Have some self-respect, man. We're in a similar position to Clemson circa 2011 or Georgia prior to 2022. They've won three titles between them in the last decade.
Look, until we get 5 star kids to sign and push into the top 5, it is what it is. I think we have a good chance of changing that. Ohio State has no problem signing 5 star players, regardless of recent developments. Bama recruits better than us. We are like Kansas State to Bama.

Do you know how many 5-star recruits that Clemson signed in the four years before they won it all in 2016? Five, in total. They started reeling in several more each year after that, but you don't need to have a roster full of 5-star kids if you've got elite QB play.

Their BCR was basically even with ours last year. If Clemson can do it, so can ND.

CJ Carr to the rescue (if he signs).

ND (Freeman and yes Elston) was almost a year ahead of most of the country eval wise on Keeley, while Bowen made a knee jerk commitment when Freeman stayed and Lincoln Riley left. Once you realize these aren’t some complex systematic issues or differences it’s probably a lot easier to not make dramatic knee jerk statements on the state of the program.

One cant really compare this to the "same old notre dame recruiting". A) its a new age with NIL and parents getting their hands on that and B) we have a great damn class if it sticks verses not having having a even a shot at a great class which we have had too many times in the last 20 years. Go look at Michigan if you want a view of what Willingham recruiting looked like.

It's not, which is why it's tiring to see the same ideas put out and the sky is falling about how ND will never be great. Except MF is proving that he can recruit at a high level and he has gotten an elite QB to commit to him.

Imagine have 0 professional sports teams in your state. I now know why Bama fans are so weird.

Somebody needs to give a little fuckin slap to Loy. Wake his ass up and remind him which team he covers and which one we currently loathe/covet.

What in the fuck…
I'm also wondering why in the world Loy would tweet this. The only thing that seems to have any logical connection is that Kyle Hamilton is with RHOBACK. Besides that, why pimp a Bama kid.

We've also been consistently out-performing the talent level of our roster, whereas Kirby had been doing the opposite prior to last season.
Probably slightly on each side to your point…. But Kirby got enough talent to dominate the season with an average qb

I’ve been saying this for a hot minute! Hell the last three DC’s have all done more with less in their careers. Imagine where we are headed? The 5 stars will help, but they’re not the end all be all.

He has a lot to replace this season, I doubt they’ll be as successful. Keep in mind, ND should’ve beat GA the last two times we played. So we are closer than you think.
