Let’s hone in on Arnold and quit wasting our time here.

Agree 100% we are gonna end up messing around and going after kids who have no interest in being here. Take Arnold and call it a day. If we mess this up we will end up scrambling for another borderline 4 star

Nico is not really leaning anywhere, at least that I’ve seen, at the moment. As mentioned here or elsewhere, USC already has Malachi Nelson. I don’t see any reason to just give up on someone who has visited and speaks well of Tommy when we aren’t clearly trailing behind a heavy favorite/favorites.

Arnold always mentions we recruit him among the hardest of 1-2. Dante I know we recruit very hard. Vizinna is a new offer but loves ND and haven’t seen anything to indicate we aren’t recruiting hard. Many here wanted Tommy to recruit multiple elite QBs harder, well he’s doing it. If we were hearing interest wane from Arnold or Vizinna because Tommy was chasing nothing at Nico I’d agree, but that doesn’t appear to be the case from multiple fronts.

I agree with all of this. Shutting it down now to take Viz or Arnold would be a slightly better Angeli. We need a difference maker at QB.

Slightly better Angeli? Arnold is a consensus top 75 player. 247 has him top 50.

Yeah Arnold is better. I was talking about Viz initially and shouldn’t have lumped Jackson in too. I still would rather wait on Moore or Nico though.

I remember Wiltfong was talking about rankings being kind of arbitrary. The difference between the 180 and 220th player is mostly personal preference. It's the grades that really differentiate because the difference between the 10th and 30th player is far larger than the gap between 50 and 150th player.

ignore their careers, but Houston Griffith and Kyle Hamilton were both blue chip top 100 Safeties. But even as prospects we all saw a huge difference between the two. Griffith was a great recruit, he was not Kyle Hamilton.

if that is how you staff sees Nico or Moore than I understand why they are focused on them. We don't know what the staffs internal rankings are or how the players feel. Would Vezzina leave if Bama offers? Thats something the staff must consider. Would Arnold want to be part of a 2 QB class?

but I feel Arnold is falling into Drew Allar territory where the board has convinced itself that this kid is ours for the taking if only ND pulled the trigger. Allar was Penn States to lose, ND was at best a back up to him. And even if Arnold loves ND, we have no idea if he is ready to commit.

Arnold and Allar recruitment are nothing alike. Arnold has visited multiple times and loved it. We’ve been recruiting him the hardest or second hardest of anyone from early on his recruitment. Arnold has a green light whenever he wants to commit.

Well, Vizzina is also a top 100 guy both by 247 and the composite.

Not to take a dig at Angeli but Angeli is in a tier below all of these guys.

I have no idea where Angeli would’ve ended up if he wasn’t in ND’s class but it wasn’t going to be Michigan, Bama, Clemson, OSU, Texas, etc. which is the competition for this group.

What is he waiting for? Where does he want to go?

Loy has been pretty adamant that the Spring will likely be the time for a lot of these guys. And, that timeline works for Rees and Company as well.

You take the first of this group that wants in and recruit all of them equally hard.

Nico never ends up at Tenn without the $8M reasons they gave him. What's to say A&M doesn't pony up some ridiculous funds for Dante Moore. Or any other prospect that is in it for this. These are crazy times.

These are B.S. times. Anyone who thinks/says the way things are going is a good thing, I don't even have words to say. Just wow

Careful what you ask for has never been more true

This sort of has the makings for a train wreck we won't be able to peel our eyes away from. I'm hoping that's the case anyway.

This has the potential to be like johnny manziel as a pro/Charlie Sheen/Donald Trump in his first debate with biden type of must-see-TV.

I think it’s funny how Saban probably was like yeah we’ll hook you up with some cash but you can kick rocks if you think we’re paying you that. Finds other blue Chip QB to pry from A&M instead almost instantly. The ones handing out the most money will always be the ones trying to catch who’s on top.

Agreed. Very dangerous stuff here. This will make Tenn relevant enough to be very pissed off when they don't ever win shit with him as the QB.

What happens if he busts>
Can he be benched?
How will he be seen in the locker room by peers?
How will recruiting go for UT the next 2-3 years at that position when they just set their own market value?

So UT of them.
Quick to action, slow to thought.

So how’d he get 8 mil??? From some UT NFT?? Just random boosters?? Exactly where?? I can’t believe Tenn can somehow pony up that kind of money in a world where ND seemingly can’t compete dollar wise,… I’m not sure I’m grasping where this is all coming from
