People I have talked to feel very good about Snead, Merriweather, and CJ Williams (with visit pending). I think this is the common sentiment among the pros too so it shouldn't be a surprise. There are a lot of other guys they're still optimistic on too but I'll save that for another thread.

Soooo.. not so optimistic on singleton?

Two phenomenons happening that make me think, huh?

- One what you said, guys like Hinzman, Brunner, etc that have been long time leans elsewhere and we’re suddenly disappointed when that is still the case?

- Two, a lot of these kids saying I’m committing in the Fall or idk when I’m committing and the almost widespread reporting oh he won’t wait till then he will pop in June. Sure a couple kids I’d expect to pop but why are we surprised some of them are sticking to exactly what they said?

A couple of prospects have already decided, for ND, since those projections, Hinish and JR. And a couple more have decided just for other schools.

Who and what are these timelines that you speak of? Moore, Pope, Bellamy, Singleton, Morrison, Schrauth, Anderson, and Sneed are all expected to still have decisions soon, right?

It'll just matter who they land from that group. So, plenty of guys have timelines that match up with previous projections, maybe they just miss it by 1 or 2 weeks. Not much of a deal in the grand scheme of things.

I am both skeptical and dismissive of
Singer.

One, he and the other guy, engel have drifted since Somogyi passed.
You can't or shouldn't do everything your bosses want. Nuremberg, with some finality, proved that.

Sometimes you gotta leave a job rather than satanize your soul.
trust me, I've done it.

But his bosses should tell him to move to South Bend. These cutesy stories about kinfolk in Fl and GA don't cut it.
You don't develop deep inside sources (cf Somogyi, Prister, Sampson) in the hierarchy from 1000 mies away.

His pandering for thumbs up and the disease which the nonmaven suffers is this pathetric, prostitute like groveling for Super Chats. just won't do. It is unseemly and desparate, belongin more at Purdue than du lac.i

I like the people on this site.
I really trust the MEN, the adults, Farrell, and Lemming also. .

And right now, the combination of Ueyama,McCollum and Freeman on ISD, for me, is more valuable than the aggregate of what 247 (except for the deliberate Sinclair) have to offer.

Irish Maven? Just an insecure, frustrated human acting out.

A free opinion, appropriately priced..

I mean you have to see the irony here

Related, Singer is taking his licks tough today. Seen him apologize for bad intel/prediction twice today. I might rather he stick to his guns then that makes me less confident in other stuff lol.

Dale, a serious question. Does his apology mode make the fresh Future Cast for Rhett

more reliable
or
more suspicious?.

We recruit a lot more players from Atlanta than from South Bend and I would suspect there are more camps etc in Atlanta than South Bend.

Everything you said is correct.

But consider this. In south Bend he is a tankful of gas away from Brenan Vernon, Sonny Styles, Tengesdahl and Padilla, Dante Moore, Kadyn Proctor, Mack Markway, Christian Gray, and Hoosiers: Bowen, Lauck and Gilbert. Game day, school day, watching football players shoot buckets, talking to coahes, neighbors and janitors.'

But my point was different. Connections and inside info matter, and proximity and schmoozing matter for connections.

Solely because I played buckets at the convo with Greg Blache, I was built into the recruiting of Ross Browner, and why the staff
preferred him to Gary Jeter
and why they were confident they would land him.

When you have lunch with folks, see them at Meier's or at a liturgy they feel more comfortable with sharing stuff from inside the coaches' rooms. And these days, with the size of the staff and all these GAS and personnel, there are a lot of great "leak" sources. it ain't the Pentagon, less security than.

The more inside info you have the better you are able to triangulate an opinion..

Again, everything you said is accurate..

The pay sites have come around of recent days, week or so on Schrauth. I don’t think Loy or Singer ever changed their picks but certainly sounds like staff had work to do and is doing it. We’ll see who crosses the finish

If the offense can get some momentum, it’s how we complete a top 7ish class through way of Schrauth, Wagner, Merriweather, and Williams. That’s the group the right there. Get those guys and it’s some National noise.

Would be a big win here.

Driskell unusually complimentary of BK but this is a good article. Posting here because of what he says about Schrauth and how BK and Tommy trying to reel him back in.
https://www.si.com/college/notredam...ing-brian-kelly-having-an-impact-on-the-trail

Two things have happened. Kelly has his FB machine humming now which allows him to devote more time to recruiting and he realizes that if he wants to win a natty, he needs to help land more of the big fish that are out there.

He's my choice to join the Core 4 on the field in 2023. He's physically different from the rest. The Skoronski / Monheim of the '22 Class.

Now if Quinn / Mendelson / Rees / BK ... & His Dad can just get him to South Bend.

If Schrauth and Wagner both want in do we think the staff would take them both?

96.7% Yes

UNLESS

The second guy waits too late towards NSD and ND goes on a big run of BPA's and truly runs out of room. Even then, I think someone magically goes on medical or decides that Vandy is the place for them.

I'll believe Notre Dame will land him when they actually do.
