If the offense can get some momentum, it’s how we complete a top 7ish class through way of Schrauth, Wagner, Merriweather, and Williams. That’s the group the right there. Get those guys and it’s some National noise.

Would be a big win here.

Don't forget flip Singleton

For what it's worth Loy has indicated that, while ND won't stop trying, he doesn't think it's likely that Singleton flips. Penn State does a good job staying on their commits, and Singleton being a local kid doesn't bode well.

I feel like ND has flipped like 5+ commits from Penn St in the last few years. I don't think it will happen, but ND does have a good track record with local PA kids and Singleton did "Almost" commit so its not far fetched.

Have 3 IOL's already.

We're good there.

Need an OT that's ok with waiting, Wagner fits the bill best. He won't be ready until RS So. year in '24

Odd timing on Loy's posting of Schrauth info.

Seems to pee in the pool of Shuler's forthcoming announcement.

Lesser men would say it's a dick move by Loy.

But I wouldn't. No, perish the thought.

Shuler!....

I wonder if he thinks something might come soon and wanted to get in front of it. Would be a bummer as Scrauth is a very talented young man.

I get where Crus is coming from as far as class composition. But, to make the leap to top 5 class, it would seem like Schrauth and Wagner would be needed.

He only helps in total numbers. I think we forget he's just a 92/.9361 on 247. I mean if we add just Wagner and add an extra WR like Greene, it's much better in the Class Ranking Game.

That said, he's a 97 to me and I wanted him to plug in at the 5 spot w/ the Core 4... or be Rocco's replacement at worst when he goes to the league.

This really sucks. Losing him makes this class a failure.

Do better, Quinn.

Well, I think the correct answer is, we should add them all, lol.

He’s rated, by the composite, .02 higher than the class average.

He’d be our 7th highest rated recruit in the class and highest rated OL.

With just his addition it would add 3.89 pts to the total team ranking which is fairly impressive with this many commits already. In 4 of the last 5 years, 290+ team pts was needed to get inside the top 5. The path to 290 is much easier with Schrauth on board.

Even with X, Greene, and Wagner we don’t get to 290.

Really, the whole class? Even the OL class with Tanona/Ford/Craig isn't a failure.

Sorry, the O-line class is what I'm talking about. We missed on every top target at the position group, I believe ND should not be doing that.

I don't know, maybe I'm watching too much Driskell. The class as a whole is very good, however.

Definitely too much Driskell. He’s an idiot. At this point, anybody that is purposefully reading listening to that guy knows what they are getting.

There is no objective way to argue that a 3 man class that includes 3 prospects that could pick up the phone and commit to every Big10 team, sans one, is a failure. That’s stupid.

And, we didn’t miss on every top target. Also, nonsense. Chan and Tanona were most definitely top targets. They were identified early and the staff made pushes to get them in early. Just because 6-9 months later after ratings services don’t appreciate them as much doesn’t change that fact. Tanona had OSU and LSU offers. Chan would be at Michigan or PSU right now if he wanted too.

I actually like Craig a lot. I think he is one of those guys who may not move up the rankings, but with a solid Senior year should end up a 4 Star across the board.

On a side note, I think ND’s class last year could be a special one with Alt being the ringer. Fisher & Rocco are both future high pick guys, but Alt might end up being a McGlinchey type of kid. I’m curious to hear Driskell or the anti-Quinn crowd if Fisher, Rocco & Alt end up high draft picks in the same class.

I only read Driskell for his post game analysis of the players. However, it’s so obvious that he’s trying to get Quinn fired at this point that last year I would skip over his o line analysis because even that was skewed. You would have thought we had the worst line in college football by the way he wrote.

Honest question, would people rather have Schrauth or Craig? I know this isn't a either/or situation. But while I really like the guys ND has commits from, I could see how people might view OL similarly to the RB situation. All of them could develop into elite players, worthy of NFL draft picks. But when you compare versus the guys heavily recruited and missed out on, the players ND didn't get may have an ever better shot at becoming NFL draft picks. Personally, I think the class as it stands now is moving the program closer to where they want to be. But the pace of the movement could be accelerated with guys like Billy.
