I don't think it has anything to do with Price's status.

ND needs speed and athleticism at the skill positions. You can never have too much of it. IMO, Edwards is likely a slot in college.
I’m all for playing Love, Tyree, Edwards, and Price wherever they can get snaps. Get the boys snaps. Diggs too for that matter, he ripped up the UNC secondary

You will want this kid to make a full recovery.

We have been praising our current three headed monster backfield and in the practice I watched live...this kid looked different. Hits the hole lightning fast and runs hard as hell. Moves at a different kind of speed.
It was a huge blow that he got injured. If he a Patterson were fit early on who knows.

I'm not trying to replace Koon.

So don’t know how to get this in a different thread but I saw 2 clips of Joseph in that video… Does that mean he’s staying for another year? It has to mean he’ll be playing in the bowl game then.

Good question. PFF has his as the 81st overall prospect which puts him in the 3rd round. Not sure how much more he can increase his stock but his numbers were definitely down a bit with only 1 INT and 2 passes defensed, and 30 total tackles. He was still pretty solid for us.

Not sure if he bolts or tries to move up in the second round, not sure how worth it that is if you already have a pretty good chance of being a day-2 pick.

If he can stay healthy, he's immediately one of our top 2 RBs, at least given where he was as a true freshman pre-achilles.

We are going to have guys who are proven, young guys off injury and the freshman class competing for snaps.

I’m not entirely sure who our number one RB is though. Both Diggs and Estime have had great seasons

Considering how much time he missed this year he probably isn't in a position to turn down one more game's-worth of tape against a good opponent. I would love for him to come back but I'm still not getting my hopes up.

Estime on first down, Price on second, Diggs on first again because there ain't no third down. Lather rinse, repeat.

Limar and Love gotta know.

Every RB has a limited amount of carries in their body. ND can keep the miles off you, get you the degree and get you the carries you need to get to The League.

if I'm a RB, I'm looking for a RB-by-committee college team. Keeps the mileage low and reduces probability of injury while letting you showcase your skillset for NFL.

A number one doesn't need to be defined, right? Is it the first RB that runs out on the field next year? Is it the one with the most snaps in the first game? The most yards? The most snaps by year's end?

It won't matter. If you can play and help the team win, you'll get your snaps. And my bet is Price being one of the top two by seasons end (barring injury). This isn't shiny new toy syndrome, this is recognition of how much the staff loved him as an EE freshman.

Who was #1 this year? And what Criteria do you base it on?

Man I couldn’t wait to see Price this year! I hope he makes a full recovery and stays healthy. Anyone know the timeframe of a full recovery with an achilles injury?

3 man backfield with Tyree in slot. Make it happen.
This can't be for the purpose of just getting Tyree out of the way in the backfield. They need to be finding ways to get him the ball. With Mayer gone, those touches have to go somewhere.

Hopefully, they'll go to WRs, TEs, and RBs (Tyree). Balance should be the goal, we maybe a slight lean to what your offensive identity is. Tyree also has to be able to stay on his feet if/when he gets the ball. That may be the biggest question of all with him.

Watch his 53 yard TD run from this past year's B&G game. If he can get back to that health wise, our RB room will get a nice boost.

Usually about 12 months. Problem is some guys never get 100% back. They lose that "burst" which is critical for a RB.

We should get a pretty good read on Price by the end of spring practice.

I feel badly but I kind of wrote him off. How many running backs have returned from an Achilles injury and been productive?

I guess these were my initial concerns when contemplating a realistic recovery time. Idk of any RB’s that have made a complete recovery. I hope he gets there, he has huge talent potential.

I can’t think of too many RBs who have had Achilles injuries, but Cam Akers is the most recent one that I can think of, and his production has been mixed at best. Of course, the Rams are a tire fire right now, but before he was trying to get himself traded, he wasn’t great.
