Price feels like a Sunday guy in a way that Estime and some of the other recent solid ND backs like Adams didn't. If I'm being honest, I wasn't sure how Kyren would fare but I'm glad he's made a name for himself.

Fair comments on Estime, but Kyren was a magnet for contact especially finishing off his runs, relished blocking guys MUCH larger than him in pass pro, and had some good moves. Much less of a surprise of him getting paid as he was pretty darn complete by the time he left ND.

And even if you do produce (such as Estime seemed to) they can just lose interest in you for some reason. There just seems to be an unlimited supply of reasonable RBs so they don't want to spend big contract money except in very rare circumstances.

This. Some people have said Price will have a better NFL career than Love. I'm not seeing it personally. The story isn't written yet obviously, but right now Love is the better blocker, and he's got more proven hands as a receiving target. Price has had some big catches this year, like the 35 yard swing pass against Purdue, but he's not quite at Love's level yet. Love is a more complete back like Kyren is and has more in the toolbox like his trademark hurdling ability. For that reason I see Love doing well in the NFL because he can be an every down back. That's not to say Price can't, obviously he's incredibly dangerous once he's into a secondary and he's proven he's more patient waiting for plays/holes to develop this year. He needs to hone the other aspects of his game.

It all depends on where they get drafted.
If Love ends up in a Shanahan 1 cut and receiver offense he could rule the league. Put him on the Jets and he’s wasted.

Hopefully they both land in great spots.

The thing going against price is it's a pretty deep RB class again, I've seen him projected anywhere from round 3 to round 6, you have to remember teams don't normally use a first round pick on a RB. He could come back to ND get 1 million then jump into a round 1 or 2 pick in 2027.

I always wonder how much Jadarian benefits from Love. In other words, he is currently a change of pace in style and can come in fresh. It's a bit unknown if he can do what he does as the featured back. It could be a risk. He could be elite as the feature back or, on the other hand, take a step back. It might actually be a detriment to him to stick around. Just throwing that thought out there.....

Price is an outstanding back, but those bounces to the outside aren't going to be there in the NFL. He needs to show he can be productive between the tackles, pick up the blitzer and catch like a WR to have a decent career in the NFL.

He'll definitely get a shot in the big league., but as T-Boone said, the league is full of productive RB's, so he needs to differentiate himself.

He should have more than one carry by halftime. Look at what he's doing when he gets the ball.

What he does in the NFL isn't of consequence until he's signed on a roster. Utilize him now and augment his strengths to win games this season. Whatever he's not good at, you strengthen during practice and in the offseason. Seider is as good of an RB coach as there is out there.

This is a narrative that I thought was debunked in the offseason. A lot of his "bounces" were actually off tackle runs that he hits the hole and then goes outside, as he should. He ran, last year, plenty between the tackles and this highlight video agrees. This year, more of the same.

My reservations about Kyren didn't have anything to do with his physicality, I just wasn't sure if he was fast or agile enough, but he's been very good, so I'm happy for him. Guys producing in the League is very good for ND in the long run.

Yeah, this is how I see it too. He doesn't seem to hunt the home runs like I felt he used to, and now he takes what is given and seems to have excellent vision.

I was one of Price's biggest critics last year, and he absolutely had a habit last year of bouncing things outside if the hole wasn't there right away. I've noticed that he's been more patient this year and lets things develop like Love and it's paying dividends. He's been better between the tackles, and it still leads to some big plays like his amazing 49 yard TD run against Boise State. He definitely still has some work to do on his blocking though, and while he's made a couple big plays on some short passes and swings he still has some room to grow before he's a complete back like Love. I'd say at this point Price is the more dangerous runner though.

Last year he absolutely had a tendency to bounce things outside if he didn't see a hole. There were off tackle plays for sure, but you saw in the A&M game right from the start that he was impatient and didn't let plays develop. It led to feast or famine type games for him, without his one big run against A&M he would have had 7 carries for -3 yards. They even made it a point to mention during the Spring Game that he worked on this issue during the off season and the change is definitely noticeable.

Price is by far the more dangerous runner, but Williams has shown he can be an every down back, he does everything well. If Price enters the draft I could see Williams starting next year and he could end up splitting time with Williams if he stays.

I'm not wrong. there's a pattern and I've called it almost every year. Theo Riddick over Cierre Wood. Cam McDaniel over Greg Bryant. Josh Adams over Dexter Williams (x2). Tony Jones over...take your pick, C'Bo I guess? Kyren over Tyree. It's not always the sexy pick or the pick the fans want, but the more complete back is almost always the first guy in the huddle. Price is very good, I could see him working on his weaknesses and being the guy next year just like when Dexter finally got it together his senior year.

I always think of the Darren McFadden/Felix Jones combo with these two. And tbh, I've been on the train that Price will likely have the better pro career. No knock on Love at all but I feel like Price's vision in the hole is better suited for the pro game.

But who knows how it'll play out at the next level.

Idk what i would have said last year, and maybe Love is just that good, but Price seems like he will take everything you give him. Love will take some things you dont give him. I think they'll both be productive players in the NFL barring injuries.
