I officially take NDs current and future QB room over LSUs as of today.
Perhaps as of today. BK has done the job in the QB room Rees should have done last year.

Good that Rees has some depth going into next season.

BK’s #1 fan talking up LSU’s quarterback room after a defection is fitting on a Notre Dame board.
Don’t be so insecure. I didn’t start the thread and the many posters on IE have many views on a range of topics.

NDs QB room is also very good and there is lots to now look forward to next season. For now, Rees has righted that Room.

I disagree. And They have more QBs still looking at LSU too. Kelly will keep that QB very full at LSU.

Senior: Hartman > Daniels.
Junior: Nussmeier > Buchner (Right now. We'll see long-term; I'm a Buchner Believer.)
Sophomore: Angeli/RPIII > No one.
Freshman: It's close but if picking between Minchey and Collins I don't know why you'd pick Collins. I think Minchey is sneaky underrated, personally.
Committed recruits: Carr > Hurley.

Anything beyond that is just speculation.

So of the five QB slots we know about, I'd argue today we're better in four of them. But yeah if Buchner bails (or ultimately sucks) and BK goes and lands a portal stud to replace Howard and step into the starting job after 2023, then I'd give them the edge. Things can change. If we'd had this conversation in October I'd completely agree with you.

What you described is called a message board. Thanks. If you want to sit here and say Howard transferring out isn’t a loss after it was previously such a win, I’m going to call bullshit. I’m also not the one who is insecure about Notre Dame’s future under the leadership of Marcus Freeman. That’s on you.
Where did I say it wasn’t a loss??? Please don’t misquote or mischaracterize. I said this type of transfer can be expected at very full QB rooms whether it is LSU or now ND.

Nussmirer happened. And Daniels came back for a sixth year. Nussmirer really looked good when he finally got a chance to play. Probably scared Howard off
Exactly

In the portal world, especially when speaking of big power programs, most comparison talk which concerns anything but the next season is pretty much BS isn't it? And that's still sort of BS until Spring practices are over.

I have a hard time imagining that Coach Kelly, now that he is controlling a southern power, will not have highly-ranked QBs from somewhere or another every season, regardless of who leaves and where he gets them.

After some considered thought this is a loss to LSU and Kelly. Supposedly it was initially thought he was off to TCU.

That still might be the case but I now see Florida, Bama and possibly UGA are wanting him too.

It would be a disaster if he goes to Bama especially. Even though they have QBs the heir apparent to Bryce Young is Jalen Milroe and he is not a perfect fit for Saban’s offense.

It’s nice to have a stronger QB room and see some bigger powers really having their own issues for once.

All these guys transferring for depth chart reasons after one season are nuts.
I agree with you. What team is going to look the same year after year with this & other petty reasons of transferring?

I thought Kelly had 5 or 4 QB's for next season, not surprising to hear Walker wanting to transfer.

Also you only get to do it once! So wherever you land, in the spring of your freshman year, you're there for the duration. (unless you want to sit a year or go down to FCS, which for these elite recruits is probably a nonstarter)

Are you sure this program you picked in, what, a week during crazy portal season, is actually going to be better for you than the LSU/Georgia/USC you spent a year studying as a recruit but now you're leaving because some other guy - who could easily get hurt or flame out or otherwise suck - is ahead of you on the depth chart right now?

Have some fucking stick-to-it-iveness, kids, it'll take you far in life.

(Old man rant over now.)

Who's your source for Bama being interested? Thanks.
