Florida says that they just hired the guy who made LSU = DBU

Devin Moore should still come to ND, but that's not the argument that'll work.

The fact is: Freeman is putting two guys in the Top 15... maybe 10 this draft, Raymond just one.

That said, Moore's fondness of UF + the addition of Raymond feels like the winner to me also. Most felt he was going to UF w/o even knowing who his position coach / coordinator would be.

But don't think CMF² can't argue ND's variables are superior to UF's. He has the needed ammo and he's a baaaad man.

Kyle Hamilton for sure. Raymond has years of draft success to point to if Moore wants to go to Florida. I want Moore to come to ND, I love his tape, and think he's underrated by the recruiting sites - his offer list says as much.

If his heart is set on Florida, agreed there's probably not a whole lot we can do. Morrison is coming and he's underrated as well, although maybe a better slot corner than field. ND's variables are superior to everyone's and now we have a HC who can maximize them.

Absolutely no shot of this, like at all. Who would even be the 2nd one????

Sauce Gardner. You better believe Freeman is claiming him.

Yeah, anyone who doesn't know the value of Who Brought the Sauce isn't playing this game right.

I think he was the #1b player in the country this year along with Jameson Williams and they are gonna go toe2toe like Ali & Frazier in the Semi's.

Maybe I’m in the minority here but I think expecting (1) to hit the portal (2) while also bringing back a bunch of 5th year players and (3) passing the buck to the 2023 class is terrible for the future of the program.

It just increases the turnover we’ll have after the 2022 season and the need for the 2023 class to play right away. It sounds like things are trending better at WR and this will be the only lose at DB so hopefully it’s all a moot point but we end up with 1 WR and 3 DB’s, I’m not sure that something that can be fixed with the portal and the ‘23 class. At least not if we’re really trying win a championship anytime soon.

Someone should just tell him that UF sucks at football now and has for the better part of a decade. Maybe he doesn't know that

If someone wants to stay in the SEC and get max NIL money they are not coming to ND. Just is what it is. Recruiting moving forward to the ‘23 class and beyond is going to be nothing like what we’ve seen in the past until there is some legislation passed to control what’s going on. And I don’t see that happening for a few years.

If you can't beat em. Join em. Wanna pool our millions together and start a foundation that pays ND players? I'm in.

Marcus Freeman is a breath of fresh air, but I'd be stunned if ND utilizes the transfer portal. I don't think they will. I think grad transfers will be the norm and recruiting high school players. I'd like to see them explore the transfer portal. I know JUCO transfers is never ever going to happen and isn't even on the radar, but they should look at the transfer portal on a case by case basis.

I think the key under ND is that Freeman and his staff are going to have to capture the high end recruits that may have otherwise chosen Northwestern, Stanford and Vanderbilt over the years. In addition to that I think they'll go harder for the five star kids and maybe at least get some official visits and or additional consideration that the program hasn't in more recent years under Kelly.

I have no doubt this staff is going to work hard, but they'd be nuts if they ignore the changing landscape of the sport with the portal and NIL.

I think it will be similar to other academic transfers. If the transfer is pre-sophomore, ND will be open to it. They may have the requisite credits and be on track to graduate at ND. After that, unlikely until they’ve earned their undergrad degree.

I'll be curious to see how many more 5 star kids we go after with MF[SUP]2[/SUP] leading the charge.

I'd love to be wrong here, but I don't see it happening EVER.

ISD updated their ND commit/target rankings and Moore would be 3rd best in class at a 95.

Need this guy.

*Technically ND will accept pre-junior transfers, though they are very uncommon.

It's beyond frustrating that the three recruits in this class that we almost literally cannot afford to lose are all unable to take an OV this weekend, but all are able to visit other schools instead.

Moore visiting Florida.
CJ visiting USC.
Walker visiting Alabama.

Like...HOW THE HELL DOES THAT HAPPEN!? How are we THAT unlucky!?

I thought I read somewhere that with a coaching change, recruits would be allowed another OV?

They can. But Walker and Williams are playing in their state championship game, so they wouldn't be able to make it up here.

Williams is visiting USC, likely an unofficial, since I believe he was up there last week, which makes practical sense, since it's local.

But Walker is playing in his state title game and then making a 4+ hour trek up to Tuscaloosa. That ain't local. Same with Moore, who is also a good 4+ hours away from Gainesville.

It's really unsettling that these guys have time to go visit other schools that are good distance away, but not ND when they pay for your travel.

lol. Another problem- getting more of these types of guys is the difference between ND taking the next step and not. But getting more of these guys will also mean more sketchy recruitments, decommits, sick grandmas, pregnant girlfriends, transfers, etc.
