Consider it poetic license. ha

Think I was going for more "pedestrian," but come on, how often do you get to use pedantic?! My brain must have just been itching to do so.
I knew what you meant. Perhaps the bigger indictment is that I couldn’t get the Princess Bride Meme to work in the post which is all I really wanted.

If it makes you feel better, I did read it in his voice.

Estime reminds me of smaller AJ Dillon that doesn’t hit the hole as hard.

Starting to be obvious the 40 time at the combine killed him
Yes. What makes this even worse is the 4.58 time he ran during ND's pro day was legit and not just a home-field time. He looked faster and compared favorably to the other players who ran the 40 that day. DJ Brown ran 4.7. Joe Wilkins ran 4.68. And Avery Davis ran 4.56.

Estime basically matched Avery Davis' 40 running on the same field. That's legit. It seems obvious that, for whatever reason, he wasn't prepared to run the 40 at the combine. His agent shouldn't have let him run that day.

My assumption is that the main concern is that it simply takes too long for Estime get into top end speed

This is insane! At this point this is saying he should have stayed another year or at a minimum play in the bowl game which would have got him to 1500 yards rushing which is an elite number especially against the competition we experienced. These scouts have not done their homework. Yes someone will get a steal. Hope the bears or the Steelers land him. He ain’t lack confidence and was possibly even cocky which I don’t think helps with the profile. This is really amazing. Looking back at Kyren Williams going in the fourth round he was another steal and worthy of a second round pick or better! Hope this lights a fire in estime. I would like to see less tippy toeing thru the holes though. With his body type you would also think he would be putting up 30 reps on the bench.
Bleacher Report had him as the #1 back on the board. WTF??!!!

I liked Estime at Notre Dame, but I can understand why NFL was hesitant. Doesn’t play with the low pad level consistently, slow to hit holes at times, receiving game is not special, and seems to be weaker in the lower body for a guy his size. Corum was drafted earlier because that dude is a fighter. Love and Price are more what NFL teams are looking for. Congrats on getting drafted by Denver. Prove me wrong Audric

Visiting defenders will not have enough oxygen to catch him, nor the strength to tackle him.

Could average 300 ypg at home.

Might not dress for road games per ShamrockOnHelmet.

The NFL gets shit wrong frequently at draft time and I think they will be proven to be wrong about Audric. The "slow to hit holes" and "not much wiggle" criticism he often receives is off base, IMO. What some see as "slow to hit holes," I see as patience. The proper amount of patience. Not the over-patience that Logan Diggs often had. If the hole was immediately there AE exploded through it. If it wasn't, he slowed down and waited behind his OL. He has great vision and was the best RB in ND's RB room at knowing when to explode and when to wait for something to develop.

His vision and nimble feet are also why the "wiggle" criticism is wrong. He isn't capable of a sudden change of direction like smaller backs but he sees things in traffic most RBs don't. His ability to make subtle shifts with his legs in traffic is elite.

I think the NFL sees AE as a straight-line power back. He's much more than that and I think he'll prove that in years to come.
