That's a ridiculous depth chart in 2021. Hopefully he can push through all the bodies on the depth chart. Seemed like a no brainer to me looking at that depth chart vs. ND's, but it is what it is. I did hear something that Donovan Edwards is very open to schools right now without anyone breaking away with that race so we may have a shot. Corey Kiner is basically a backup for Ohio State so he could be in play. Also, Prophet Brown could be an option out on the west coast. We'll see but luckily numbers aren't important in this class. I'm just hoping it becomes an impact prospect for ND in the 2021 class.

I believe Taylor tries to honor his board. He has likely been recruiting Edwards, but made it known that he had been recruiting Shipley longer therefore the spot was Shipley's until he made a decision.


Edwards would likely now become that guy.

This kid. I just cant help but feel it was all a ride for him. Nothing has changed over the last 90 days Clemson wise that would have made a difference between now and then. This kid's mind was made up then, he just didn't have the character to say it then. I don't know if it was the balls or the fact that ND finally said, "ok kid, we have done all we are going to do. What do you say?" To me, he just went along for the bells and whistles and ND just kept it coming hand over fist. There is nothing any school would have done any more than ND did and anyone blaming BK or anyone else on the staff isn't looking at this remotely subjectively.

I don't care what you guys want to say about him being a good kid, he played ND and deep down you know it. Im not going to feel remotely bad seeing this kid hold a clipboard then transferring in two years.

Well when you're only recruiting one running back, that's a difficult task to do. It is incredibly hard to convince guys who are the best at their position in the nation to come in together in the same class and potentially lose playing time because of it.


A lot of these top level kids want to hear that they are your guy, THE guy -- especially a position like RB or QB.

This. Plus, there is the Notre Dame interest at play for a lot of these kids. What I mean is, you're good enough in the classroom for ND to look into you, it makes parents, grandparents, coaches, etc. say, "Hey, give it a look. They're a great program and the education is tops. You might like it." SO they give real interest to ND, but realize all the others just are worth more as a 16, 17, 18 yr old boy.

I mean, let's be real here. As someone from PA, there are kids that yearly get into PSU main, Temple, Pitt, WVU, etc. and people usually say, "wow that's nice good for you." Then a kid says that they got into ND, well even those that aren't ND fans really go crazy about that. It's akin to getting into an Ivy, and people hold it to high standards.

Not everyone is gonna pick ND. Doesn't make them bad kids, or stupid kids. Yet anytime someone goes somewhere else you just love to blame them.

Yes, ND is a great school. If you have the opportunity to attend ND, especially for free, you would be wise to take it. Some kids are going to make different choices. Maybe they don't want to go to school in northern Indiana, maybe they don't wanna go to a Catholic school. In Will's case, we had some legit data points to show that even beyond the degree, he would be wise to come here with Taylor to reach his NFL pay day. Didn't work out, Clemson also has a legit argument to say his NFL chances would be better at their school.

Clemson is a good school in its own right. Will's brother goes to Penn so the Shipley's clearly value academics. Going to Clemson doesn't make Will or the Shipley's liars/bad people. It's not an elite university but it's not community college. But you will jump on any chance to insult his intelligence and character for not picking your favorite team.

I did read them and I am glad they did them . . . But why did they wait until the 11th hour to do it? This is your top recruit on the board and you only start this at the end of his recruitment? No you put the work in early and often. Taylor worked his butt off and Kelly and Rees chilled out.

I also read stories a out how every Clemson coach on the offense knows this kid and has been in contact with him and his family. Up until 2 weeks ago, Kelly and Rees had barely talked to his parents. Pure and simple, they got lazy ok this one.

This has nothing to do with Taylor, Rees or Kelly. If a kid has further aspirations, national champs, NFL etc, you go where you see they develop your position group. You go the factory of the day.
