Gonna be interesting this off-season how the RB room shakes out not enough Carries for all those guys

They are all averaging between 10 to 12.5 carries a game. We have seen that there are enough carries to go around, and that the committee approach is working. And it's a good strategy to grind down a defense as the game goes on. Adding Price into the rotation next season could complicate it though, so i'll give you that one.

You right it is working but I think 2 backs will do. I do think think we need to use 3 the way we do. That’s just my opinion.

Hopefully you can tell them all the lifespan of a running back is short, so take the lesser carries and be more fresh for the NFL. So many RBs get used like a workhorse in college and by their late 20s they are on the decline.

How far has Diggs come? From a guy that gets instant transfer rumors every time he posts a IG story to the guy the coaches are clearly trying to send a message to the rest of the team with:

“The thing I love about Logan is his attitude, his team-first mentality. He’s not counting how many carries or plays he’s getting but making the plays count. It’s really, really good to see.”

- Freeman before UNLV. Can’t find it but Rees had similar praise.

- Gets 28 carries versus UNLV

Then after the game:

Love to see it! I was wrong about him and I'll take my lumps. He's basically picked up the mantle from Kyren as the heartbeat of the offense.

I was too. I hated the way he danced in the backfield last year waiting for the hole to open. He has completely changed his style as a runner and now runs with an attitude. I love watching him now.

This is the guy many of us saw last year as a raw freshman. He's really stepped up since he got healthy. My only disappointment Saturday was he didn't get to carry the rock for the score. He was the workhorse that got us down the field and didn't get the points. Very cool moment though...on the Jumbotron they honored him by pointing out his carries and yards were both career highs. They got a shot of him on the bench and one of the other players pointed out the numbers on the screen, he looked up and smiled. Very cool.

In contrast, Estime shoved the ball down UNC's throat in the 4th quarter of that game to the point he was sucking air and bent over. I remember thinking that they should give him a breather. He fumbled on the next play (although we know now that he plays a little loose with the football).

Since fumbling wasn't an issue for AE at that point, I wonder if the coaches decided to make sure they had fresh legs after a long drive?

I don't know. We had three scores on the ground, none for Logan. Diggs and the OL were running with 8 in the box to help put that game away and they were still getting yards to get down the field. Ran it 19 times in the final two drives with just 2 passes, and Diggs got all the carries except for the ones at the goal line. Work horse. Not mad or anything, just a shame he didn't get credit for the score.

Kinda funny...during those last two drives when we kept feeding Diggs the announcer kept calling it like this: "LO-GAN. DIGGS. THE BALL CARRIER." Kept saying it real slow and forceful, over, and over, and over. I imagine to UNLV it was annoying and frustrating, basically like "He's getting the ball every play, and you can't stop it."

One of my favorite moments of the night...right after Diggs had some big runs in the 3rd quarter he was coming off the field with Audric coming in. He grabbed Audric by the facemask and fired him up. Love this dude, team player, he is #3.
Remember when he was on transfer watch?
What a ballplayer.

Mine was when he scurried to the sideline for a good gain Thomas was flung into to the Clemson sideline blocking for Diggs. Diggs was on his way back to the huddle, turned around and went into the Clemson sideline to get Thomas out.

He's running so aggressive this year when comparing to his carries from last season.
I think he tried to be the patient (L Bell) type of runner, but realized the speed at this level is too much for that.
The urgency in his carries has been very noticeable.

That's what a full RB room does to your backs.

Having a row of road graders in front of you helps too.

One of the first things that coach DM said after he was hired is that he hated the L. Bell style of running and his backs wouldn't do it. Logan has really taken to the coaching he has received and become a great back as a result.

Yep, basically said he didn't abide dancing and wanted his guys doing their jobs and hitting the holes. When you have an OL like ours that should always be Plan A.
