Can one of the Mods bump him up to the commit portion of this page? It is giving me anxiety.

I guess it could be the coffee and Copenhagen before Bfast, but still, its not helping.

Dad, is that you...?? Don't tell me you're drinking Miller Lite for lunch too because then I'd really start to wonder. :)

Wait...I am confused....I thought Coffee and Copenhagen was breakfast. In fact, the breakfast of champions

I like Diggs. Cool name. Good looking kid. Solid highlights. Love the agility. I guess things are slow in here but the response to his verbal indicates people aren't that excited which I don't understand. I think we should be at least as optimistic as we were with Kyren Williams commitment.

Apparently Diggs is playing behind a pretty weak OL at Archbishop Rummel. I have no basis for that other than other people have made that claim. So, his production is not all that impressive for a HS running back going on to play at a school like ND.

With Kyren, he put up some absolutely absurd HS stats. Every game, just video game numbers. Diggs could obviously have been putting up amazing numbers if he was at Vianney too, but maybe that explains some of the lack of excitement.

I’m not sure about his Oline, but Rummel’s schedule is no joke at all. They have a good football tradition there, and they play programs with a national profile.

Might not have elite top end speed or size but accelerates very quickly, runs through contact, and has nice agility. Behind our perennial top 10 OL that’s a recipe for success. I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t produce at ND.

Why not add Tulane for a few trips to New Orleans for recruiting purposes? Same for SMU or TCU, poking your head into the DFW high school market isn't a bad plan.

Exactly like a back we currently have. Looking forward to watching him in a ND uniform.

I get what he is saying, but definitely don't like seeing the word "decision" here.

Yea, I get trying to protect kids, but if I had to guess, meeting with recruits on a one-on-one basis would be pretty safe and seems necessary to allow these kids to pick the right place for them.

They should simply create a manageable, lessened-contact period. Just official visits, no more than so many kids, masks 24/7, etc.

Exactly. Hell, most P5 programs can afford Haz-mat suits. Just give those to the recruit & family. I’m half joking.

And who does it really hurt? People that can't afford to take their whole family across country to check it out. Folks who can afford it can still do it to some degree.

I wonder if it isn't about the kids, but about hurting the schools. If schools in California can't have people visit because of state or local rules but schools in Texas could, then that could be an unfair advantage for Texas.

I don't necessarily agree with this idea because there are already different geographical advantages and disadvantages, but its definitely a point I could see the NCAA considering. It would once again be one of those things where they are prioritizing schools over kids.

I honestly get where the kid is going with this but Covid is just another reason why kids should be considering the school that will prepare them for the best academic opportunity and not football. I mean, what if it got worse and there was NO football in 2021? That ND degree sure would look better than that MSU or Bama degree on the wall...

While what your saying isn't wrong, I think we need to look a little deeper than that. You can get a fine education almost anywhere, and a football player with a degree from Alabama probably has many MANY doors opened up for him. It isn't so much the diploma that I would compare, but the graduation rates, retention, degrees some players are "forced into" etc.

We all hear about guys at these football factories being there for 5 years and being not even close to finishing their degree and now either have to pay to finish or drop out. That's the bigger issue than just where it's from.

True but can you honestly say that a Bama degree opens doors like ND does? So say football ceases, the ND degree would be far more beneficial than a Bama degree.

That is what I am saying. Kids see Bama as a one way ticket to the pros (even though many do not see the pros at all that are sold this) and dont think of anything but football in their future because Saban doesnt sell ANYTHING but the ability of Bama to put guys in the pros.

Ehhhhh..... That's very dubious. Alabama doesn't exactly have a world-beating alumni base or reputation among firms outside the state. My SIL is from Tuscaloosa and while I would generally agree that a tree can grow from any pot of dirt...hoo buddy. I have not been impressed the times I've been down that way. I'm sure like all schools they've got some counterexamples to point to, like how Craig Krenzel proves that OSU football players are all STEM majors or whatever.
