Congrats Irish. I believe Diggs could be a good complimentary back for you guys.

Great analysis by Jamie here, who isn't known for pumping sunshine about ND recruits:

What’s his ceiling?

Diggs has two critical traits that in my mind make him an elite prospect.

He has the vision and lateral agility to make defenders miss and he has the strength and balance to consistently gain yards after contact. Those are so important for a back at the college level and they are why I am so high on Diggs as a prospect.

I’m fine being alone in my current evaluation with him because of that, especially because I know he is only going to get bigger and stronger.

There are other backs with splashier highlights, but that has less to do with him than what he is working with in front of him. I think he can be an every-down back for Notre Dame who can excel behind better blocking in college.

He has the talent to eventually be a starter and has the traits of a back who can be a closer in the fourth quarter.

While his grade on 24/7 is low, his evaluation is pretty encouraging:

PROJECTION
Power-5 Starter
Possesses requisite size for high-volume usage at Power 5 level. Built well relative to listed size with frame space for some more mass. Runs with violence and finishes at the second level. Best as north-south runner with one-cut ability, but shows occasional open-field wiggle. Reliable pass-catcher out of the backfield. Not afraid of contact. Willing blocker when asked. Flashes good initial juice but can improve top-end speed. Production and yards per carry suggest need for more big-play punch. High-floor running back with workhorse potential at the P5 level. Potential to become reliable starter for big school program.

Great. I think a RB who can get 5-10 yards reliably will come in handy regardless if it turns into big plays.

Can one of the Mods bump him up to the commit portion of this page? It is giving me anxiety.

I guess it could be the coffee and Copenhagen before Bfast, but still, its not helping.
