Some of you need to go watch Styles 2021 highlights because you are crazy with this move to defense talk. Kid has an extra gear we need offensively once he gets his confidence back and a distributor at QB.
And he seemed to get some confidence back the last couple of games…….hope to see him take it up a notch in the bowl game.

If he's such a playmaker, why aren't there being designed touches for him? I'll never understand why we are impervious to fast screens.

Those balls were not on Pyne. He just straight up dropped numerous passes this year, probably close to half of the balls thrown his way. I get he’s talented but people aren’t going to throw to him if he keeps this up

Yeah I do not understand the impulse to take one of our most talented WRs and make him a defensive back. Agree Styles dropped some balls but that's something he needs to work through, not give up on and switch positions.
Also we have more corners now than will ever see the field, and while we could probably use a free safety, that problem may well resolve itself on signing day. If not, go find an experienced one in the portal. Styles is of best use sticking at the position he has trained at for the last two years

There were several of these set up for him this season. He dropped the ball...

Pyne also completely missed a few. Tough to keep calling a play that the two parties involved can’t seem to execute

It isn't so much "move to defense talk". I'm actually starting to suspect a lot of people here day drink on a regular basis.

Colzie - Styles - Thomas - Merriweather Is on paper a pretty damn talented group. Hope they bring in a transfer with some speed to round out the group.
Plus we're bringing in a few studs in Braylon James, Rico Flores and Jaden Greathouse, and the latter's frame appears to be pretty much college ready if his measurables are true (6-2, 215 is outstanding for a HS Senior).

Our RB room is going to be absolutely filthy next year, too. Assuming Tyree sticks around, it would be criminal not to get him involved more in the slot. Still think he deserves touches out of the backfield, but with Estime, Diggs, Price, AND Jeremiyah Love coming in...that's not even mentioning Gi'Bran Payne who is a bit of an unknown commodity at this point, seems like we can get maximize his talents and get a little more creative with him.

Good Lord, talk about an embarrassment of riches at RB. No reason we can't utilize Tyree elsewhere with that depth (if he sticks around, really hope he does).

Not saying he can't get back to that form but drops aside, he just wasn't the same athlete. The "extra gear" you speak of was just not there this year. Maybe there is a reason for that, but he looked tight. He looked tight turning, he looked tight making cuts, he looked tight attacking the ball.

There have been, he's either dropped several or they were thrown in the dirt.

I still remain high on Styles, I think his ceiling is very high and agree that he just needs a nice confidence boost going into next szn. He'll be an upperclassman, time to shine.

Yeah I can agree with this. But I also think we all lose sight that these are 18-22 year olds and their progress isn’t always a linear line from year to year. Players can have a bad season especially considering sophomore slump is a real term.

He could have had a nagging injury, once he lost confidence he could have been thinking too much that made him tight, his girlfriend could have broken up with him this year. Who knows.

I do know we’ve seen him produce at a very high level. I don’t think we should write it off with recency bias because he didn’t meet expectations in his second year with his 3rd QB and new WR coach.

From reports, he is an incredibly hard worker so I wouldn’t bet against him with a bounce back maybe even in the bowl game.

Maybe he was dealing with an abdominal injury ala Jafar Armstrong, who looked very stiff post-injury after a promising start to his career. Although if that's the case, obviously hope Styles can bounce back better. Just spitballing.

Everyone is watching the same thing, Styles has to know he looks slower, Balis knows, Freeman, etc. Gotta hope they can come up with the right offseason plan.

Styles definitely needs to stay on the offense side of the ball. I think his sophomore slump was due to the expectations we had of him from how he played last year.

The thought of having these players on the field next year of Sytles-Colzie-Merriweather-Thomas-insert any 2023 WR:

Greg from ISD said over the weekend he received info that Colzie got injured and implied that he'd be out for a while.

Lots of lower body injuries for our receivers this year. I thought those weird hopping exercises were working?!?!

Our freshman WR's will get an opportunity today and they need to step up with the Colzie & Thomas injuries.
