Honestly think getting Riley back is a bigger get than Donovan Edwards. DB is probably our biggest area of worry as far as depth goes. Houston Griffith and Derek Allen being busts certainly hurt.

I feel like CB is the position Notre Dame underwhelms the most at in regards to recruiting. We should aim to bring in one elite DB and another very solid one in every cycle. Hopefully we can do that this year with Riley and Wright.

Would be curious to get the whole story from Riley's mouth as to why he decommitted and then recommitted.

Yeah, I think the extended dead period has made it harder for kids to get comfortable with commitments this year, but that's across the board.

Yeah, I noticed when we played GTech they played about ten guys in the secondary (run a 4-2-5) and Allen wasn't one of them.

Welcome Back!

He’s an EE and a physical dude. It’ll be nice to see if he can kid it up during Spring Ball.

Can one of the mods add him to the fron........ disregard.

Great get, again. Welcome back! Mods with a nostradamus effort.

Need one more DB ideally. Life after Hamilton is coming. Hopefully TMA sees the light and gives up the route running ideas. INTs are cooler than TDs.

Def would like to hear an explanation but glad he's with ND

He kind of did. Said his indecision was due to lack of visits and personal interaction with the staff. So, he and his step father took a visit to campus during GT week and got a better feel for everything. He said that changed it for him.

thought this post was worth re-bumping

Saw this tweet at ISD. Pretty awesome stuff.

Can we count this as our defeat of usc for the year? Keep the streak going

Mentioned in his BGI interview that the plan is to start at CB. But, he realizes he’s going to get bigger and S could be an option. I think he’s going to end up at S and said as much when he de-committed. He’s a physical and aggressive kid. I think he’d do well at SS in a Lea defense.

Ryan Barnes at FS as the heir to Hamilton. And Tucker as Field CB. Another CB would be great. In fact, I’d like to see a specialist like a slot CB as a possibility.

And I think Walters is a Rover. Per Sinclair he’s up to 185 already and he’s a downhill hitter. Probably best suited there, IMO. That all looks pretty damn good to me. Kollie is a Buck.

That's good they made the visit. Had he ever been to usc? They weren't even in his original final group, still seems bizarre

Lol that Culinary Arts is taught by Applebee

Tbh it wouldn't be that hard for any of us to convince ourselves to commit to being a football player in LA. The only hard part is whether to go the bigger program of USC or to follow ACamp's dream and follow the girls to UCLA

Why do they all progress to safety.
Isn't the CB position more lucrative and in need?
Have him doing track work more so than weights training.

Hold your horses. I’m not ready to say Houston Griffith is a bust. After this season Griffith still has two years of eligibility remaining.

Well, to be fair, to Phillip and the staff, those are just my opinions and what do I know, lol.

But, to answer the question based on my previous statement. They don’t all. They’re pretty high on Clarence Lewis at Field CB. Hart at Boundary. Heard positive things about Rutherford who seems like he might be a year away. Bracy can play better it’s just a matter of consistency. And, McCloud could very well come back.

And then, philosophically, it’s just natural evolution of defenders. As players grow they move down and/or outside-in.

This. Wright sounds good to me. Especially when considering snatching another DB from USC or Stanford (who after the Colorado game no show until the 4th quarter could go 1-5).

We all heard of him acting with LeBron in Space Jam 2. He told scUM he wanted to major in business. Give some pamphlets and links about Mendoza and wrap this thing up.

Staff must really like him (I like him as well) to allow him to recommit after decommitting and committing to your rival. I can't imagine BK typically allows or likes that. I don't even think Tuitt is a comparable situation. This is more Daelin Hayes. But either way, they were 5* type kids. That's why I think the staff is high on him.

Do you see this guy as that high ceiling? I dont know much of him only that the rankings seem to have him a 3 star with Rivals a 4 star.

He is at least a high floor kid. He already regularly competes with some of the best WRs in the nation. He plays very aggressively. I think he has a lot of the right on the field mentality to make an impact early. His speed on his new film also stood out to me a bit more this year. Definitely not a three star kid.

These are his regular season highlights from this year.

They have as many uniform combos as Oregon

He's definitely aggressive and you're right about the speed.
