Every time I see a new post here I'm waiting for it to be his transfer announcement.

Kudos to the kid for betting on himself.

If there is room ND should take him back. It would look good. Maybe on lacrosse scholarship.

You can’t be on the football team and count against another sport’s scholarship.

ND will need to take a transfer next year regardless. If Angeli or MInchey is named starter one of them may bolt so that leaves you with 2 QB's on roster.

This seems like a moot point. The only QB transfer ND will take is one who will start. Highly unlikely that there will be one as talented & accomplished as Hartman but if they feel there’s one that offers more than what they have, I suspect they take offer them.

I really thought the kid has something to build on after the bowl game. Seemed like a perfect scenario where he plays back up to Hartman before taking over the reins next season.

Instead he leaves a prestigious university w/o a degree to play 4th string QB at a football factory. He should just get those “Bama bangs” and he’d be like the rich kid’s son who played QB at a small private HS and walked on at Bama for the prestige & hope of coat tailing a ring.

Don't think that's true, isn't the frosh slot WR (jordan faison) for ND that's turning heads currently on a Lax scholarship?
I believe you're right but, NDRock is also correct. I believe if Faison starts playing in football games, he'll count against the scholarship. Scholarships can't be offloaded to other sports if they play in the primary/dollar-generating sports. Which is one of the few rules I agree with the NCAA, they were able to mitigate blatant abuse by having that one on the books.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I've never known what to call the "white southern upper/upper middle class teenager" haircut. This is gold.

I'm sure TB12 is a nice guy, but I don't want him ever lining up at QB for a team I root for ever again. I'd rather watch one of out RBs run the wildcat for 4 quarters.
I feel like freeman was ok for with rees leaving with the kind of thought of "Man, you told me we had the QBs we needed with Buchner/pyne and there was no reason to go to the portal"

You are correct, if he plays FB, he would count against the FB number. I don't know if he counts against the LAX number still, same with Bowen and baseball. That I am not sure about

Correct.

Statement was on the team. I should have asked what he means by on the team. It's not hitting Football, until he plays in a game on scholarship. They probably have a decision to make next year, and might be tied a bit to if tyree comes back or not.

I’m guessing he’s really second guessing the decision he made right now, tough break for the kid. I believe ND would bring him back but even he’s got to know at this point him starting at a big level school is probably slim

I can't imagine we would put him back on scholarship, and he has to sit out a year too since it would be his second transfer (unless he graduates from bama after 3 years, 2 at ND, 1 at Bama).

I was disappointed when he transferred for the same reasons, but seeing the lack of progress he's made at Bama makes me very glad he left. Feels like if he were still here, riding backup to Hartman, then he would almost have to be handed the starting job next season. And it's pretty apparent he just isn't going to put it all together.

Totally agree!!! Hindsight is 20/20, but now I'm glad that he's gone with what ND has at QB and what is coming in over the next 2 yrs.!
