He’s run a laser timed 4.5 forty and has 5 TD runs of 45 yards or longer. The designed runs have him following his blocks, not “take a couple steps, cut and hit the hole.” That’s why he doesn’t look as fast as he is.

Game one lack of deep balls was ok since we seemed risk averse. Game two was possibly the ugliest game I’ve watched a QB play at ND with a decent team around him. Evan Sharpley could have done better!

Sure you can always pick out more stuff that wasn’t perfect but catastrophically bad quarterback play is kind of the end all be all of losing football games.

The read was OK (Yes he had other open WRs but Mitchell had a step in deep single coverage and maybe you take that shot on 2nd and 1 there).
The throw was the problem.

Bad read? Bad throw, yes. But bad read? I don't know. He has other open, but a decent throw there is an uncontested TD. Hard to call that a bad read.
