Really good get. He's better than a lot of the guys ND has been looking at.

Emphasis on “looking”… i feel like a child again when we would go shopping and I see things I really really want and mom says… “naw son, just lookin”

I'm starting to think my whole displeasure with the portal fiasco is because I had this aggressive perception built up in my head. After the playoff snub I've been full on pissed off at CFB. After reading many posts on this site about the revenge tour and going full scorched earth on everyone, I thought this whole process would be going completely different. Maybe this revenge tour was something I built up in my head. I knew it would be tough for ND to pull off. But, in my head a full on revenge tour would have meant bringing back Wagner, Schrauth, Burnham and maybe Price (snowballs chance in hell really). To help give you a really experienced team. I thought that ND would have had their ducks in a row and ready to just say FU to everyone and completely run train on the portal. It doesn't appear that way, at least on the outside.

I'll remain optimistic that Freeman and Co. can get this portal season back on track. It's hard not to have a knee jerk reaction to what seems as a constant flow of negative news. I'm still holding out a little hope that behind closed doors the staff is operating in stealth mode and will get the remaining pieces to put a championship quality product on the field come fall of 26.

Now, if the portal closes and we maybe only get Gilliam at DT (he's only started 2 games in his career). Then I'll have a different opinion and stance for sure. If that's the case maybe Ash says screw it and they come on running a 3-4 or 3-3-5 next year...Only kidding.

Only in the CFB Wild West can this happen (and a lot of donor (oil?) $)

'SETS ME UP' North Texas transfer portal quarterback commits to Oklahoma State in whopping $7 million transfer portal deal

As Jason Kirk w/ The Athletic recapped so nicely: "From walk-on to $7.5M in 365 days"

What top transfers get paid these days

Almost exactly one year ago, a North Texas walk-on freshman named Drew Mestemaker made his first start at QB since ninth grade. Filling in for Virginia transfer Chandler Morris, he loaded the box score in a First Responder Bowl loss to Texas State, and then most people resumed not thinking about the First Responder Bowl.

Fast forward exactly 365 days after that Jan. 3 bowl: Mestemaker, FBS' only 4,000-yard passer this season, agreed to follow coach Eric Morris to Oklahoma State. A walk-on just 12 months prior, Mestemaker now has a two-year deal averaging $3.75 million per season, the Tulsa World reported. You love to see it.

Just entered the portal. Decent production (I like his 19.1 yds/catch). And good size at 6'3" 215

Potential Marsh back up option. Treash (a ND assistant) has recently followed him.
