I'm no evaluator of WR talent but if we whiff on getting a Boundary receiver, this guy seems to he dynamic, fast, and has the size at 6'3" 210. He's been productive but it seems like with Altmyer moving on to the NFL, he's exiting The Illini as well.

He has hopped around from EIU to Ball State to Illinois over the past four years and has one year remaining.
Even with supposed more relaxed academic credit granting, could ND even make it work with a guy like this?
The guy is motivated and want to play for a P4 team where he can build his resume for a run at The NFL

Really lacked production at Illinois with the exceptions of the 5 TDs. 22 total catches, 265 yards. Just a solid rotational WR, IMO. I think Micah Gilbert would fast out because a better internal option.

Yeah, he has bursts of production for sure, but not consistent.

Campbell would probably pay his guys transferring out not to sign with ND just for the shits and giggles. When you have that kind of money you can light it on fire just to watch others squirm a bit.

Wow, first CB Jontaz Williams and WR Marsh and now WR Ian Strong. Good thing that the Irish staff can recruit high schoolers because they're sort of sucking at this portal poaching as it appears. Plus, losing KK Smith and Josh Burnham to boot is a real kick in the dick. Oh well, it is what it is.

I think the kicker was KK Smith declaring on Monday vs earlier pre-portal...maybe the decision to not host on the weekend would have been overturned
