Huh I was told by @ND7983 aka Driskell that Singer was being mislead by the staff on Davidson since they don’t respect him. Maybe Irish Breakdown is the site that the coaches don’t respect?
That’s not what I said.

A) Comprehension helps in life
B) Calling me Driskell is what a 3rd grader does. “I don’t like you so I will call you names of somebody else I don’t like
C) B is no different than me threatening to beat you up or tell my mommy on you

I’m glad your first thoughts on all things ND football revolve around me.
You are welcome.

A different RB visiting =/= Gideon Davidson not visiting.

Yeah if we weren't at least talking to Gideon or other RBs, James probably would already have an offer. If he leaves ND with one then that pretty much tells you where we're at with other options.

I really like the film and style of Nolan James, the B.C. commit from DePaul (with Burress). I think someone had mentioned him a few weeks ago and said one of the sites did. That would be an exciting flip, IMO, if something was still going on behind the scenes there.
It took a few plays of his highlights to see that it would be someone that staff would like stylistically - really good HS back.

Only question, as mentioned, is if it translates.

He looks damn good on tape. I just don't know how much is he benefiting from having a 4 star QB and 2 4 star WRs opening it up for him. He's no Daniel Anderson, that's for sure.

Late reach offers dont bother me with the increased scholarship limits. If you don't hit on the high end, offer a ton of talented athletes who aren't likely to transfer if they dont get immediate playing time. If they hit, great, if not, recruit over them.

The players we should be avoiding are the Rico Flores / CJ Williams types, with limited upside who are high flight risks.

You don't like small wide receivers from California. Got it. ;)

(wth is CJ Williams doing at Wisconsin at this point? I see 12 catches for 200 yards on the season...)

Youre not wrong on the WR profile!

My wife went to UW so I've watched all their games. Most of it is QB related- Tyler Van Dyke tore his ACL first drive vs. Alabama and Braedyn Locke has been absolute cheeks.

That said, the people saying CJ Williams peaked athletically were right on. He has a hard time getting open.

Looks like he's fourth on their team in both receptions and yards, with stats that would place him about fourth on our team too. Jayden Thomas, basically.

As for California WRs (though he was bigger) I would counter with Javon McKinley, who stuck it out despite three underwhelming years and became a solid starter in his fourth. Respect. Of course in this era he may well have transferred to like San Diego State as a sophomore.

I think something a lot of people overlook is that the poor recruiting at receiver forced players to step up before they were ready. Maybe Merriweather was always going to be a bust but I bet if he could have redshirted and sat behind more proven players, he might have had more success. And every year the team has been forced to play freshman who are not "elite" guys.

A lot of fans act like pushing players into the deep end means they will be better in the future when reality is, most will drown.

At least now with Greathouse, Faison, the transfer portal, we aren't forced to ask freshman to be superstars. They can come in and develop. Cam Williams and Micah Gilbert will hopefully benefit from this.

I watch his film, see his bounce and wiggle, his hands and ability to play bigger than he is as a near exact replica of former Wisconsin RB James White.
I think he's very good at "playing running back" (If that makes sense), I just dont know if it will translate well to big time CFB at his size. Doesnt seem to have 4.4 speed to make up for it.
Super intriguing back, right? His vision and cutting ability makes it look easy at the hs level.

Love the White comp, 🇨🇦, especially since he'd play behind a massive oline if he commits to the good guys.

Top end speed is the only question for me. With all the hand wringing about Landow, prospects like James is where he can be a differentiator, imo. His MO is finding hitches in their Giddyups and fine tuning that twitch. I'll be interested in hearing what ND's perception of him is after they get eyes on him in person.

Since Javon graduated, only three times has a player exceeded his yardage total from 2020. Mayer in 2021, Kevin Austin in 2021, and Mayer in 2022. This stat is likely to hold again this year unless Collins starts really racking up the yardage.

Collins is 350 yds behind McKinley with 5 games to play, but your point stands.

I'm not being negative here because he looks the part. Big/ Fast. Just odd by looking at the offer list. Florida kids are different so I am intrigued.
He was playing in GA last year and transferred

If these guys stop reporting offers, that's one thing. Sounds like the James kid has not been reporting since he verballed to BC.

Super reassuring. Power houses!

I never said the kid couldn't play. Just figured they'd be able to flip/ go after someone more a sure thing.
He reportedly has more. Stopped reporting after he verballed.
