Ewars or Arch

Edit:

But honestly, Ewers is one of the only QBs that would make sense for next year if we went that route.

If it isn't a 100 rated 5 star holy crap type, why bother?

Rather than reaction points, can we offer “some” a package of baby wipes and a tube ofbaby rash cream?

Whoa...

SIAP but Loy just said that there are "rumblings that ND is big game hunting for a portal QB for next year"

he said it would be a surprise but the rumors are out there.
Arch to ND confirmed

Seriously though who even is going to be a good returning QB next year? I think we picked a good year to stick with what we have in-house.

We certainly have A LOT of left over $$$ from Deuce / Meadows / NOB. Better use of it tbh.

You wouldn’t go “big game hunting” with our QB depth chart unless it was a proven starter….Kyle McCord anyone?

If the transfer is better than Angeli / Minchey and Carr... it makes sense. Carr wont leave... let gain experience as the #2. The rest of the roster will work itself out.

The goal is to win games now.

Begs the question if Carr's elbow issue is potentially more concerning than anticipated?
That was my first thought too.

Ewers is the one that would make the most sense, among "big game" anyway. But hard to see why he'd stay in college. He has a lot of experience, and some injuries. Isn't he projected as a first round pick? Not sure who else would be both realistic and worth pursuing. Avery Johnson?

McCord makes a lot of sense he’s got 1 year left and he’s a stud he isn’t winning shit at Cuse

Also went to Catholic prep school (Sacca’s school). Seems like a fit if we want to go that route and he wants to move again.

Ewers is going to leave. Not weighing in that we should or shouldn't, but he will likely be the biggest fish.

If they go out and get another transfer Qb. Pretty obvious they aren't high on Steve/ kenny and maybe CJs elbow is fucked.?

I think Freeman knows that there’s enough depth at this point that we can make the playoffs with above average quarterback play each year. The potential downside with rolling into a year with a new QB is real, and Freeman might think that there’s no reason for the largest position to be such a risk if Carr is coming back from an injury / Minchey isn’t ready, and Steve just isn’t good.

I tend to think at this point this is just
Loy blowing smoke up peoples asses since ND has had a pretty shitty week from the recruiting side of things.

Minchey will be a junior. If he isn't ready then he might not ever be.
6'2 and will probably be close to 220 lbs next year. Seems like a perfect fit for the Denbrook offense.

This just screams ND's lack of ability to develop a QB
