Oh shit, here we go again
From what you saw, is Devonte Smith a lock at nickel or did you see any other DBs mixed in?Okay. Here we go. Before I say anything or go any further, please remember that this isn’t something I get to do often. So, I don’t really know who “won” the practice. This is one practice, so I would not take this as gospel. What I saw tonight might’ve been different than what happened yesterday or what will happen tomorrow.
Defense:
-it appears that they have not missed a beat. They’re fast at basically every position.
-Starting safeties were Shuler and Talich
-Sneed working with the DL in drills, mainly the edge rushers.
-Pretty much status quo, which is a good thing IMO. I don’t remember seeing a blown coverage. Just very solid all around.
Offense:
-Lambert working with the 1’s at RG. That’s a development worth monitoring.
-Carr loves Pauling and Greathouse
-it’s obvious they’re keeping Love’s workload light. He probably had 10~ total carries
-Craig with a few low snaps near goal line, after Carr had led them down.
Now what you’ve all been waiting for…
Carr took every single rep with the 1’s. Before I go any further, this does not mean that’s what happened yesterday or what will happen tomorrow.
Carr was not perfect. I’d say he completed roughly 60%~ of his throws. But damn does that ball come out with confidence and with zip. He had a great 20 yard TD to Greathouse. No interceptions. IrishLion is right, he is not afraid to push the envelope.
Minchey was good. Took all of his reps with the 2’s. He also isn’t afraid to push it downfield. He had a TD to Burress, but it was called back for OPI. His mobility is notable.
I’m sure I’m missing a bunch of stuff. My mind and eyes were going every which direction. If you have a question then just ask. I’ll do my best to answer.
Yes, the updates are much appreciated… Arrow/Merck, any kicking game updates? FGs were a huge part of the playoff run last year!

Is Lambert with the 1s because Absher is out or because he beat him out?
Yeah that’s why I’d be a little confused if he was out there while Absher was healthy but I feel like last week the Irish Illustrated guys said Absher was banged up and Guerby went inIm no expert but doesnt he look like the prototype of a Tackle?
Either way, that dude is a hoss and im so happy to see him in there
it was a joke about "look up" and the gentleman's room
(I love big naturals)

They only allow the kicker two kicks a practice? I'll *revisit* this later1/2 today. That’ll be a stressful situation.

What was the OL across the board with the ones?
Given it takes offenses a little more time to gel, this is great to hear.I should also clarify that this was far from a perfect practice. I’m rarely at practice so I don’t know what “good” is supposed to look like. Offense won some, and the defense won some. Quarterbacks didn’t throw any picks and no one fumbled. Most importantly, I didn’t see any obvious injuries.
My biggest takeaway is this defense is going to be a bitch to deal with, and the offense will be better because of that.
Some of the posters on 247 are doubting these "random posters" on another board and their access to practice. I will not stand for this slander of Ryan (or Arrow) and our shitty chili lover.
Seems like some people are a bit jealous. I trust Arrow completely. He's a straight shooter. Some of the posters on 247 are doubting these "random posters" on another board and their access to practice. I will not stand for this slander of Ryan (or Arrow) and our shitty chili lover.
Absher is huge too. Both are mammothsIm no expert but doesnt he look like the prototype of a Tackle?

Two random people on Irish envy watched practice, yeah highly doubt thatWhat did they say? Lol
Much thanks for the updates. Sounds like the good vibes we are all having for this season are warranted. Can’t wait for this season to kick off. It seems the biggest concern is special teams. Punting and FGs could be very important these first two games. @arrowryan were you able to see how the special teams were doing overall beyond just the 1/2 FGs? Thank you for your attention to this very serious matter!

This reads like a former poster here that got proven to be a fraud… hmmmmmmm
Hey guys I was at practice today, carr was 10-10 and Minchey was 8-9, believe me![]()
