Let's all enjoy what is hopefully a relatively stress-free week two together. We'll start with Friday night's matchups, as college football will avoid the traditional NFL Thursday kickoff.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 6

KickoffMatchupCoverageVegas
7:00 PMBYU @ SMUESPN2SMU -10.5 | Total 55.5
9:00 PMDuke @ NorthwesternFS1NU -2.5 | Total 36.5

- Traditional ACC Power SMU hosts our friends from BYU... and SMU might have a pretty decent squad? They're at trendy dark-horse pick in the ACC.
- Tune in for Northwestern's temporary stadium, which should honestly maybe be their full-time setup. They'll never need a lot of seats, and playing on the water is badass. Battle of the nerds.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 7 - WAKE UP, THERE'S FOOTBALL

KickoffMatchupCoverageVegas
12:00 PM#3 Texas @ #10 MichiganFOXTEX -7.5 | Total 42.5
12:00 PMPittsburgh @ CINCINNATIESPN2CIN -2 | Total 63.5
12:00 PMArkansas @ #16 Oklahoma StateABCOKST -7.5 | Total 62.5
12:00 PM#17 Kansas State @ TulaneESPNKSU -10 | Total 48.5

- BIG NUDE SATURDAY. Texas by a billion.
- GO BEARCATS! Did you guys know that select Cincinnati Skyline locations now serve breakfast? Anyone wants to come in town and try it, let me know. Fuck Pat Narduzzi.
- It seems like OK State is another hipster playoff pick... Will we see another SEC team fold in a marquee, early-season matchup?
- Shoutout to K-State for traveling to Tulane for an early-season matchup, though idk how good Tulane is supposed to be this year.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 7 - AFTERNOONERS

KickoffMatchupCoverageVegas
3:30 PM#5 NOTRE DAME vs Northern IllinoisNBC | PeacockND -28.5 | Total 44.5
3:30 PMBaylor @ #11 UtahFOXUTAH -14 | Total 54.5
3:30 PMIowa State @ #21 IowaCBSIOWA -2.5 | Total 35.5
3:30 PMSouth Carolina @ KentuckyABCUK -10 | Total 42.5
3:30 PMCalifornia @ AuburnESPN2AUB -13 | Total 53.5

- Go Irish. Beat Hangover. Knock off the big-game cobwebs as early as possible, get the o-line settled in, let Leonard hit some deep shots. Let the D cook.
- UPSET ALERT
- El Assico. Hammer the under.
- Cocks vs Wildcats on ABC??? UK is always good for the first half of the season, and has South Carolina's number lately.
- I think these guys played last year, too. Shoutout to them for a classic home-and-home. Fuck Auburn, though.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 7 - PRIMETIME

KickoffMatchupCoverageVegas
7:00 PM#19 Kansas @ IllinoisFS1KU -5 | Total 55.5
7:00 PMVirginia @ Wake ForestESPN2WAKE -1.5 | Total 56.5
7:30 PM#14 Tennessee @ #24 NC StateABCTENN -8 | Total 60.5
7:30 PMColorado @ NebraskaNBC | PeacockNEB -7.5 | Total 58.5
8:00 PMApp State @ #24 ClemsonACCNCLEM -17.5 | Total 53.5

- Night slate is pretty gross.
- Pretty. Gross.
- Some intrigue here, though Tennessee getting to beat NC State and getting credit for it seems silly. Tune in to check out Nico "Next Big Thing" Iamaleava.
- Primetime in Primetime. Can Matt Rhule's squad get it together in year two? Can Prime's defense get it together, period? Or is it just shootouts for days?
- Clemson is a decent favorite... but it would be hilarious to see Dabo's fall accelerate here.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 7 - NIGHT CAP

KickoffMatchupCoverageVegas
10:00 PMBoise State @ #7 OregonPeacockORE -19.5 | Total 61.5
10:00 PMTexas Tech @ Washington StateFOXWSU -2 | Total 65.5
10:30 PMMississippi State @ Arizona StateESPNASU -6.5 | Total 59.5
11:00 PMUtah State @ #13 USCBTNUSC -28.5 | Total 63.5

- Peacock! Oregon may have been looking forward to this one last week during their slow start, as Boise State is a semi-popular pick to rep the G5 in the playoff.
- Texas Tech was decent last year, surprised to see WSU favored after losing Cam Ward to Miami (FL) via the transfer portal.
- Cowbells in the desert heat. ASU looks to make a leap in year two under Kenny Dillingham, who may be the next big thing in the coaching carousel.
- If you're still awake, check in to see USC on the BTN (!) and see if they're hungover after beating Bayou Brian and the Tigers.

Northwestern's facilities when completed are going to be pretty awesome.

NC State knocking off Tennessee would be another great kink in the mighty SEC armour.

Texas is only a 7.5 favorite over UM??!!?!?

It’s that weird tradition of assuming a team will forget how to play football when they travel to a strange land for the first time ever.

Wait, Big Ten Oregon's first two games this year were both against teams from Idaho?

Has the world gone mad?

The 7.5 line has me thinking that Vegas knows something, because that number is going to get a lot of play.

I haven't really read up or watched much on Texas or Michigan, but my gut tells me Texas by 20

scUM looked bad against Fresno, final score looked better due to a late pick-6…

But there’s a very good chance that they were looking ahead by a decent amount, and also even if their offense is piss poor, they’ve got a defense that should keep them in striking distance in most games.

Having said all that… if I were a betting man, I’d be taking Texas for a two-score win.

The line originally opened at -3.5. That was probably the time to get in on it. It has now moved because of all of the money on Texas. That being said, I hope Michigan bites the curb and Texas wins by 50.

I got in at -5.5 and I’m happy about it!

I hate to admit it, but the big house is quite the spectacle, and I'm sure that original line was taking that into account. Have you ever seen 100,000+ walmart wolverines with body odor in one place drunk off of trailer park moonshine? All jokes aside, this game being at noon and not at night = big advantage UT.

Kyle Field was supposed to be daunting as well. Once the game kicks off, the field is the same size as any other field across the country. scUM will be lucky to score 17 with their QB situation. Take away Donavan Edwards, you take away their offense. scUM will be strong defensively again this year, but UT will find a way to score if the scUM offense can't keep them off the field.

Give me UT to cover. Skunkbears will find a way to win 8 or 9 games this year, but this isn't one of em.

scUM's defense is still respectable, but the Longhorns should stampede the Wolverines.

In retrospect it’s wild that Michigan didn’t go to the portal for a QB. I mean Davis Warren is going to be one of the worst starting QBs in the Big 10, and this team has the pieces elsewhere to win a playoff game.

True, but in light of everything that's been happening there and the cloud lingering over them, it would have been a very hard sell to get anybody in there knowing the level of turmoil that's already happened and what could be coming down the line.

If it's about NIL money, a QB can get that anywhere in the portal when all is said and done.

Someone talk me off the ledge of hammering Texas -7.5
The only way Michigan covers is if their QB has the greatest growth we've ever seen between games 1 and 2. I don't know what the Texas defense is supposed to be this year but I imagine it's slightly better than the what Michigan faced last week. I don't bet so these are empty words but I'll be stunned if Texas doesn't win by 17+
