Watching replay now in 2nd quarter. Still concerned about rolling Tosh Baker out as starting tackle. He got beat bad by Kobi Onyiuke who looked very quick coming off the edge. Carr looks like he can sling it downfield the few throws I've seen.
Where can one find a replay?

Post Blue-Gold Game Thoughts:
1) Overall I was pleased with the QB play. Carr & Minchey have a nice zip to their pass. Angeli played a nice game.
2) Sneed and Burnham were all over making plays.
3) KVA is going to be Manti and Jaylon special.
4) Aneyas (Kyren 2.0) Williams is going to be fun to watch this year.
5) I hope ND uses Kris Mitchell more than just a deep threat this year.
6) J. Love can be ND's offensive weapon- put him anywhere.
7) Raridon- next TE at TE U??
8) Gilbert's high school film doesn't lie, I am excited to see what he can do this year.
9) I hope Colzie can stay healthy this year, nice to see him get some catches
10) Highest B&G attendance at 37K since 2007 for Clausen, I am ready for A&M!!

Go Irish!!

This is the most talented roster top to bottom ND has had since I’ve been a fan, including ’05 and ‘06.
I agree with you, I wouldn't be surprised if some of our older guys beat out by our younger talent.

100%.

They're gonna lose 2 of Angeli, Minchey and Duece... maybe all 3.

Give CJ the rock and build for a title run with him, KVA and Young leading the team in 2026.

And nail down Hart and Rivers asap cuz one of them has to lead the 2028 National Champs.
QB recruits are all lotto tickets and you hope one of them hits. If one does, then you take the win and figure out the backup positions later because one of your lotto tickets hit.

My thoughts going into the season:

Offense
- o line still scares the heck out of me. I see us losing a game this year because our tackles just get abused by good edge rushers. I hope it’s not a&m. I really wish lambert were an early enrollee. I know it’s not realistic for him to play as a freshman.
- they don’t go into the fall camp with 4 scholarship quarterbacks. Too much talent with your current #4 qb being an apparent stud.
- I hope deland can keep all of the rb’s happy/content. That room is loaded. Payne will have his role. Denbrock is going to scheme to get Love in great situations. Dude moves differently
- wide receiver depth is probably strongest it’s been since 2018. That’s just sad. Del Alexander set that room back for years. There are good receivers who won’t get many balls. I think Gilbert is too good to keep off the field. I see Jayden Thomas going from our wide receiver #1 to probably our 4th option. Wish Faison would’ve been out there for spring but I get it.
- tight ends - just be healthy. Lots of good options. Larsen isn’t the biggest but had a good day

defense
- D-line is stacked. Traore is the next great rush end. Oben looked good after mixed reviews in practice. I worry about sophomores getting passed up
- linebackers are so athletic and deep. Kia balled out today. He will see the field on special teams, but I think he’s good enough to see real time on d. Kva - thank you for choosing us. Sneed - good on you for balling this spring
- cornerbacks - wish we still had Lewis. Talent is great: depth is a little light. I trust Mickens’ recruiting that the freshman will be good
- safeties - thank you X watts for not going pro. Excited for rod herd. The room has talent which is surprising for how poor recruiting was for years

I think the talent is the best it’s been since 2015. Notre dame should be hosting a playoff game in December

What’s even crazier are the seasons ND went through with zero depth at the position and were seemingly cool with it. Look how quickly this staff fixed that problem once they acknowledged it!

My hot take:

‘25 and ‘26 Carr/Williams/Gilbert :: ‘05 and ‘06 Quinn/Stovall/Samardzija/McKnight

Except this time… the Heisman-caliber QB and elite WR’s are gonna have a championship-level defense backing them up.

I can feel it in my bones, fellas…….

I don’t think this is much of a hot take tbh. In fact, I’d be pretty disappointed if this group doesn’t take the offense to new heights. You can add Greathouse to that group too, at least for 2025.

Gilbert looked super impressive physically for a kid that should be in high school. Wide receiver battle in camp this fall will be fierce.

Seeing Greathouse limp of the field on that last first down conversion had me concerned. Any update on that?

Just watched the spring game and here are some overreactions:

QB rankings:

1. Carr - he had 3-4 dropped balls, including the 4th down to go tie it up. KK dropped a 35-50 yard dime piece. Carr takes shots and reads defenses better than anyone else on the roster as an EE freshman. His upside is enormous. He made one very bad decision that could've been an INT. He had one errant pass that floated on him. Without the drops, his stat line would've been 18/19-23, 210+ yds and most likely another TD. His throws have touch, they have timing and he immediately sees the correct read most of the time.

2. Minchey - he made a couple bad decisions and he's also show touch and he takes shots. He's more likely to cost you a game if he takes too many chances but he can also win you a lot of games if he continues developing. Has big upside but appears more raw than Carr.

3. Angeli - he did some good things and took what the defense gave him. His one long throw really skewed his stats on a CB falldown which diminishes the throw but he took it. He also threw some odd passes and seemed more comfortable taking the checkdown. 1 or 2 of his passes that kept drives alive wouldn't resulted in him getting blown up but the defense was pulling up. I think he takes too long on some throws and that can be catastrophic in big games. I've been an Angeli fan but getting to see all 3 QBs rotating made it obvious that Angeli isn't capable of the same throws of the 2 QBs above.

The strongest move Freeman & Co could make would be naming Carr the backup. The time is now to get this guy seasoned. It'd be great if he got game reps in blowouts while you bring him along. We can't waste time with a talent like this. The 2nd best move would be elevating Minchey to back-up and Carr to 3rd but I don't know how you justify it.

I hate it, but I have a fear that Minchey will want a higher position on the depth chart and may look for greener pastures. If that happens, I think we'll get tired of seeing his stat lines on the ticker while watching ND games. Angeli is the safety pick and since ND isn't trying to win 4th place, it'd be best for ND's future if Carr & Minchey were moved ahead. This pains me, I really wanted Angeli to surprise everyone but Carr has waaaaaaayyyyyyy outplayed what I expected as EE freshman.

Of course, I've seen one practice (and the least important practice since it was the B&G game) but taking what we saw and combining it with what the beat has said, I think it's at least a fair appraisal.

2 cents, grain of salt, opinions are like assh....
Spot on. It’s one thing for a qb to throw a pretty ball. It’s a whole other thing when he can read the defense, have the field vision, know where every single target is going, and then make the right read. That’s exactly what Carr was doing. Super impressive young kid. I’d love for him to be the starter now although I’m sure it’ll be Leonard.

Did you not like what you saw. I can’t tell.
I thought they were fine, at best. I worry about Tosh because he tends to play like his feet are stuck in mud and Aamil might be 265lbs out there. Honestly I think you probably try and find a LT and move Tosh back to RT. He can at least out/down block and protect the front side in pass pro. Try Aamil out on the DL.

I have not see anything, but my guess is he rolled it or it's a sprain at best. If he couldn't walk on it I'd start being more concerned. I would guess he'll be fine soonish.
