So far, in the first 14 mins, Irish playing the best I’ve seen them play this year. By far.
Great ball movement, fast, confident and not forcing anything.
Don’t expect them to win but have been impressed with this game so far.

Turned on the game in 1H & ND was up by 10. Proceeded to piss down their legs & blew the lead in a manner of minutes. I don’t recall a team finding ways to lose the way this team does. They all look like they know they will lose...just a matter of time.

ND lost by 3, I felt like they competed. They had a chance with the last possession, but missed all of their 3's. I like that coach Shrews is giving Mohammed and Certa more of an opportunity. Burton had another 30 point game, he needs better talent around him; that's on the way for next season.

If you think all of our players with eligibility will return.....but that is a questionable line of thinking.

He doesn't have much of a choice but to give Sir and Certa minutes with his kid out for the year. And assuming all the freshmen will be immediate impact players is probably a bad bet. Starling was a higher rated composite recruit than Haralson is (despite the ranked number in the class), and we saw how that went.

Certa will be a good player. I see him being the guy the defense literally cannot take a man off of because he’ll make a three from the corner.
Disappointing loss. They competed. Team has looked more improved the last three games. Burton is an elite player, my goodness. Please stay.

Certa has looked good and I agree with Henges24 that he could be a 3 pt. shooter. ND has Mohammed listed as a guard a 6'6''; I'd like to see him be a shooting forward. Starling was on bad team, had Blake Wesley stayed for his sophomore season the team would've been better than 11-21.

Uhh pretty ugly first half vs a Stanford team that can’t hit a shot to save their lives.
SU was 3-22 with four minutes left in the half and we’re still losing.
This nd team just isn’t good at anything except watching Marcus Burton go one on one. Or, in case of tonight’s game, one on three

It’s hard for me to imagine Pete giving him more than another year of this. If our football and WBB program can be perennial top-5 powers, there is absolutely no reason that in this era of MCBB we can’t at least be a yearly top-25 team, making the tournament >75% of the time.

We just need Burton to actually show up and score 45-50 points per game. It's not that hard...

We can’t defend for shit but they battled their asses off today. That’s a pretty gusty win for this bunch.

Gutsy win with Davis fouled out for a while. Went down 4 with Burton fouling out. Could have easily crumbled but Allocco got hot.

What a mess of an officiated game both ways.

Really is unfortunate that Burton got injured for a large chunk of the year and they blew so many close ones. If just 3 of the many close ones went a different way you’d think 17-14 is a nice step in the right direction. I think Shrews will be the first to admit this has been a poor coaching job by him. I have hope for next year but they need to retain Burton at all costs.

I don’t think we lose Burton because of money. If we lose him it’ll be because he wants to play with some guys as good as him.
Will have to completely change how he plays. Not sure he can but many will line up to give him the opportunity to try

No kidding How many times did the broadcasters look at the replay and say “where’s the foul?”

Seems like this team was starting to jell before the Burton injury. Since that time, they seem to have no identity. A win against a mid ACC team seems to be a huge upset.

What happened? Was it just that the coopetition level went up or did the team just slide?

Burton can play on any big name team in the country if he entered the portal and I don't think he would enter the portal because of NIL issues; I think ND would take care of that.

He had too much put on his shoulders as a freshman, I don't think anyone stepped up this season to be the #2 guy, and the injury bug hasn't helped overall.

The incoming transfers have been spotty this season and I know they have to, but I like that Mohammed and Certa have been given more of an opportunity to play.

I can see ND losing some kids to the portal, but if ND didn't have the talented incoming class coming in like they do I could see Burton testing the transfer portal.

It is not a guarantee, but talented help is on the way.
