Hartman > Card. But I’ll admit if Minchey wasn’t on board and we struck out at QB or got a 3 star project for ‘23 I would want Card.

Straight talk -- actually go get someone who knows their offense and bring them in as an analyst. Their offense is fire. If you took the Wake offense + ND defense the past couple seasons ND is tippy top team in the country. They were 10th in offense in 2021 and 18th this year per advanced stats. With like zero freaking NFL talent anywhere on that roster.

Notre Dame was 20th and 42nd, by comparison, with NFL caliber players at multiple positions.
I don't think it would hurt, but I think the biggest difference in the productivity of the ND vs WF offenses is Hartman.

It's Gimmicky according to some on here. If that's the case, give me all the Gimmicks

I'm curious how many analysts we currently have. Right after we lost to Bama in the CFP, I remember someone posting that BK would bring in more analysts. I have no clue if BK actually did that, though.

I kinda dig it with our personnel. Some of the concepts sprinkled in would allow some freedom on those underneath routes freezing the linebackers. Reminds me a little of the old freeze option Syracuse ran years ago with McNabb.

It's the duty of ND beat reporters to undermine ND for the sake of the story. Journalistic integrity demands it.

System QBs scare me
He’s not one. Go look at my post earlier about the Wake offense. It’s not like he ran a the wing T. It’s basically just RPO/read concepts. The slow mesh is nothing more than a slow read that they run sometimes.

He’s ridiculously good at it so it wouldn’t kill ND to incorporate a lot of read stuff if he’s running the offense.

I’ve seen his tape yes he can make reads and progression but that is a system that really holds the quarterbacks hands. Idk he’s a minor upgrade and a lot of people are just reacting to his stats.

Assuming the Hartman smoke is true, I did some thinking about how he could perform next year.

From 2020-2022, ND has averaged 30.9 Passing Attempts/Game.
From 2020-2022 Hartman has completed 60% (705/1,173) of his passes, averaged a little over 8.4 Yards/Attempt, .074 TD/Attempt, and .02558 INT/Attempt.

If those trends held up, here is what his stats would be over a 12 game RS: 223-371 (60.1%), 28 TD, 9 INT, 3,123 Yards

Due to QB issues, 2022's Passing Attempts/game brought down ND's average over those 3 years. From 2020-2021, ND averaged 32.4 Attempts/Game. At that rate, Hartman's 12 game RS projected stats would look like this: 234-389 (60.1%), 29 TD, 10 INT, 3,274 Yards

I am gun shy, so I will not count my chickens before they hatch, but some of your guys' evaluation skills are brutal. If we were fortunate enough to get Sam Hartman it would be a MASSIVE home run. Have you guys watched the film? Holy cow. A system QB? Worried because of the type of offense he runs? Sheesh guys. The three main atttibutes a great QB needs are the ability to read a defense quickly, accuracy, and mobility within the pocket. Hartman has all three in spades. I don't understand the concern at all. I think most of us are, but you would think we would all be doing backflips. There are not many QBs in the country I would take over Hartman. I just didn't think it was realistic. Sure hoping this is true and we get him.

Have you done a thorough film review are you basing this off of five minutes of highlights?
