Loy seems to think ND will be getting good news on this front.
I’m being genuinely serious. I’d rather have a depth chart that has Buchner/Angeli than Buch/Pyne. Angeli has a higher ceiling and needs to be pushed to get there. Ideally we get a legit QB transfer but I’m happy Pyne is gone. He just caps the potential of the room. So,…… literally no one then?? And Pyne transfers out?? This, is,…. Fine.
Hartman, Card...(and if the podcast wasn't joking today) DJ?any ideas?
I guarantee they'll get a quality grad transfer QB. I just don't see a scenario where they don't.So,…… literally no one then?? And Pyne transfers out?? This, is,…. Fine.
Who could be left if Hartman is to the highest bidder and Pratt stays in NO??I guarantee they'll get a quality grad transfer QB. I just don't see a scenario where they don't.
Because they negotiated NIL deals to stay. How in the actual french toast are both Michael Pratt and Frank Harris sticking with their respective podunk schools in this state of free market college football?
We don't know who else is going to enter the portal. It's early.Who could be left if Hartman is to the highest bidder and Pratt stays in NO??
Guarantee it, huh? Dangerous words considering ND's unwillingness to play the game.I guarantee they'll get a quality grad transfer QB. I just don't see a scenario where they don't.
Sort of the expectation at this point. But I’ll always dive back into the hope or something happening. If we strike out on this I wouldn’t even be surprised.
If they don't get a quality grad transfer it won't be because of NIL. It'll be because the staff botched it.Guarantee it, huh? Dangerous words considering ND's unwillingness to play the game.

It's been said by a couple people that the guys that ND are interested in aren't publicly available yet. We have to wait until the bowl games wrap upIf we strike out on this I wouldn’t even be surprised.
Yes ND better get used to doing that too.Because they negotiated NIL deals to stay.
I get what you’re saying but he has thrown for 12,000 yards and 107 touchdowns.I wouldn't take Hartman unless we could also get their OC lol.....
I think there’s a difference between paying an acquisition fee to a high school kid and paying one to a QB who has won games in FBS level CFB. Especially if he already has a degree.Guarantee it, huh? Dangerous words considering ND's unwillingness to play the game.

Completely agree here.I think there’s a difference between paying an acquisition fee to a high school kid and paying one to a QB who has won games in FBS level CFB. Especially if he already has a degree.
Hopefully ND sees it this way because we’ll have to pay to get a proven player. They should look at it as a “one off” event
Completely agree here.
I get the concern about getting into bidding wars for high school kids. (even if I think it's inevitable and we might as well figure out how to do it the right way.) But when it comes to grad transfer QBs, many of those concerns kind of fade. These guys are mature, experienced, and effectively no different than the players on our current roster. We will need to pay to get anyone worth having. We might as well wrap our heads around that.
Also FWIW if Hartman doesn't work out, I'd be fine with Schrader from Syracuse, or maybe Brin (who I know less about). We need an experienced QB who can provide a safety net for Buchner. We don't need a superstar.
Yep. I think Shrader would fit that bill. Even if he's not a world-beater.We need a upgrade from however you classify Pyne's performance this year.
Probably not that good of a QB, either. If a QB is scared to compete against Buchner and Angeli for the starting job, probably not the right mentality to begin with.
