I assume Card wants to be promised a starting job and he's flat out not good enough to get that at ND. Sure. But you are Notre Dame. You have a talented young QB you've watched every day for two years and you like enough to have named your starter until he got hurt. Do you promise next year's starting job to a lesser team's backup?
