And, an Oregon State mod is saying that Card could announce for them, any day now. I mean, they really can't fuck this up, right?

Of course they can… if they can’t promise the starting gig or a big fat check, they don’t have a ton of leverage.

Well, he’d be the guaranteed starter here over Buchner. So, that should’ve been made clear to him.

And, he’s staying at Tulane. I doubt they have a big fat check for him either.

It’s Notre Dame, I think we have a little more to sell that fat checks. Time to take some pride in this gig.

I'm a broken record at this point, but if they liked Card as much as this board does, he would've visited. I assume Card wants to be promised a starting job and he's flat out not good enough to get that at ND. Would still be fine with him being the option in a competition with TB but doubt that's what he's looking for.

Pratt? Yes.
Card? No.

So you are Card......would you rather go to ND and fight for the starting job or go to Oregon State as the presumptive starter (i.e. job to lose).

If its about playing Football, you know the answer.

Sure. But you are Notre Dame. You have a talented young QB you've watched every day for two years and you like enough to have named your starter until he got hurt. Do you promise next year's starting job to a lesser team's backup?

If it's not Pratt or Hartman, we need a guy who's willing to fight for the job (and possibly not win it).

Card was at Texas so the optics of Notre Dame doesn't wow him. He wants to play and it sounds like he doesn't want to be fighting for a job when he doesn't have to.

Also, lets not kid ourselves, not every QB battle is decided meritoriously. He is not stupid, and likely knows a prior starter may still get the nod despite beating him out.

Also, Rees's own standing (i.e. rumors of going pro or otherwise) may not help.

On the surface, we all think this should be a no brainer opportunity for a high end QB transfer, but its not.

All true. There's the NIL situation to consider as well. That may cost us Hartman.

Big picture I think there are guys out there who would warrant promising the job over Buchner to get them to come here (Pratt, Hartman), I just don't think Card has earned that. If that sort of promise what he's looking for, Oregon State is a fine team. Good luck. Beat USC. We'll find someone else.

The NIL issue alone could cost us a legit chance at a Natty. These programs are now de-facto Professional Clubs and we are still Student-Athletes. "Good Luck w That"

But the thing that people are looking for is a guaranteed starting spot. I think Buchner may make that hard for Rees to sell…

Curious if Novosad flipping has any impact on Hudson Card. I saw an article or two that thought Baylor would be interested, and now the depth chart is a little less crowded. Unless he's really zeroed in on Oregon St, but I'm sure Baylor will be much more active in the transfer portal with the news this morning.

Prister: “Boubacar Traore, I’ve been saying Trey-or this whole time, I see NDs pronunciation Try-or-e, it’s gonna take us a little bit of time to learn that and commit that to memory. Uiagalelei. Uiagalelei. It took me a while to get that one”

O Malley: “That’s a hint for everybody listening”

Loy: “Oh boy”

So you’re saying there’s a chance?!?!

(I think it was a joke)
