Sorry if I pour cold water on some fans’ “Reality” but ND is not gonna win a Natty anytime soon. That’s just a reality I am okay with because ND is still a special place. Just not committed to winning at all costs.

Fact is ND will need to either lesson their standards for transfers or start pony up the big bucks if they don’t you can be happy with getting beat 35-10 by the Georgias and bamas either adapt or get lost

Yeah Alabama really started to blossom once NIL became a thing. Allowing them to buy a top RB which bucked the trend of underperforming Bama backs.

Lincoln Reilly didn't really have much to sell at OU, but once he got to USC he was able to finally get those offensive pieces he was missing for all those years.

Holy hell, that's one of the dumbest things I've ever read on this site.

Let’s be real though. The SEC has been doing “NIL” for years.

Can also make the argument Lincoln Riley with Caleb Williams at OU might have been just as successful at OU than USC.

I don't know. I mean, we lost our best player in this class to Alabama due to NIL.

USC was drastically better this year after landing Riley and buying players via NIL.

I guess we can agree to disagree but there is no need to be rude.

Yes I suppose so.

I just think others think ND has a legit shot at a Natty and wonder if they will be crestfallen when it doesn't happen? Its not like we hired Urban Meyer or a proven winner- and its not like we have such an easy platform for 5 stars to flock to or transfer to.

I also find it interesting that now ND Analysts say "star rating systems doesn't matter." - now that we slid from #1 to #9 class. It sort of excuses the fall off in the class and leaves the illusion that a possible Natty is still materially possible since recruit ratings doesn't even matter. Thats a significant adjustment of position.

Love this class, especially when it's following a previous strong class. The BCR is going up on our roster and now that freshman class is quickly heading into it's 2nd year where you start to see more guys break through.

I'm anxiously anticipating this time next year because with another top 10 class that stays at/near the 80% BCR, our entire roster will feel very different. That will have 3 recruiting classes with Freeman involved and I think we're going to be a drastically different football team.

If we can land a high quality QB in the transfer, this team has plenty of weapons for the 2023 season. Merry Christmas! I'm grateful to have Freeman as our coach and a bunch of high character kids who want to play for the Irish!

If anyone really thinks that Kelly could've pulled this class in the NIL Era. Is absolutely crazy. Not at ND. Not sure NIL $ would've changed that. Remember a lot of these kids had NO interest in ND when Kelly was HC. Some of the top recruits in the class. Especially on offense. Freeman and staff busted their buttons to get this class. Not only that. They filled holes. Yeah we missed on some guys. But C'on. I'd like to hear those who say this is a regular Kelly class. In this NIL crap. You guys really think Coach golf a lot would have pulled a top 10 class?
