I know back in the day children of ND employees attended ND for free if they got in. Not sure if that is still the case.

when one works their way down the 247 QB list for 2023 the first guy who is going to a school that ND should always be able to thieve from is 6-7 JJ Kohl going to Iowa. Imagine having a 6-7 QB.

Iowa State, not Iowa. And he's not going anywhere. Teams around the country were talking about trying to flip him as early as the Elite 11 and he is super solid in his commitment. He's another one of those guys from Iowa that don't want to leave Iowa.

He’s a legacy to Iowa state who’s been approached by the big boys, but hasn’t budged

I'm perfectly fine with them not taking a QB in this class. One less blown evaluation/wasted scholarship on the roster.

A grad transfer QB is much more important, IMO.

Agreed work on getting a grad transfer QB with 2 years experience maybe bring in two guys in 2024

For the Canadian connection alone, I'd take that all day. He is the best QB in the MAC this year. But, it's the MAC. I am concerned about the level of competition, and he did not have a good game against Penn State this year (14/30 119 YDS & zero touchdowns). He did bounce back to a degree the following week against Iowa State, but it still wasn't a great performance. I get that Ohio in general was overmatched in those contests, but Rourke did not show up despite that. I'd look more seriously at a QB that has had success playing against P5 opponents.

It's hard to find real true film or highlights on him. I don't know what he is working with in terms of arm talent, decision making, field vision etc.

Can our board insiders give it to us straight here now that Carr is 100% not reclassifying? What the fuck is happening behind the scenes? I refuse to believe the prospects for a 2023 QB are as dire as they appear.

Feels similar to when Dante was a silent and we were all wondering wtf was going on.

Loy basically said that he thinks we should and will get a 23 QB and a transfer. I would bet that the transfer will be the dude next year, and the 2023 QB will be just OK. I don't think any insider has any actually knowledge of who they are after for 23 beyond the obvious names that we were in contact with before all the dominoes fell.

Loy also said that the 23 QB recruiting isn't going well. Which, no shit, but still is disheartening to hear confirmed.

I think they are surprised they didn’t get traction with someone (Johnson, Minchey, even Chiles, the Washington commit) enough to get a visit. Thought they had something with Duncan the UCLA commit.

At this point, I think you hope for the carousel to start moving or and Freeman wins in the living room.

The program doesn't NEED a 2023 QB. What they do NEED is a quality graduate transfer.
