i always get a kick out of the *scoffs* when watching with CC on.We should start a thread, and each comment could be a "Closed Caption" auto correct or whatever strange things it comes up with. We have a 2 kids under 10, so we always have it on, and some of the CC edits are hilarious.
True but punt blocks are electric. See ND 2022Did anyone hear the II podcast last week when they talked about how useless punt returns are now?
The average number of returns per game was less than 1.5
The team that lead the nation in yards return average was like 8 yards per return.
Just catch the ball, don’t muff it.

2023 Notre Dame Preseason Superlatives
Notre Dame football will begin the 2023 season on Saturday and the ISD staff has a few superlatives heading into the year.irishsportsdaily.com
When I was coaching high school football years ago, we did not have a punt return team. We had a punt block team. We covered up spots for fakes, but basically told the kid catching the punt to just catch it. We were going to shoot our shot trying to block it. Got good enough that we always did it. When we were beating a team by 30, we had not gone over how to "not block" the punt, so our team blocked another. Needless to say, the other team was, rightfully, pissed, and when that team went back on the field later, we just basically had to tell them to stand there and block, because we had no type of return in our playbook.True but punt blocks are electric. Orrrr... maybe we think that Sam does the job of an efficient QB and doesn't show out in a big way because he doesn't have to.OFFENSIVE MVP - Hartman (if someone doesn't pick hartman, they don't think we have a good/great season)
Agreed. Similar on safeties, especially considering we have two transfers there.Anyone think it's odd how little Howard Cross has been mentioned this off season? I think there's an outside chance he's our best DL and he's playing out of position, but he always has. All focus seems to be on Mills, Botehlo, JPP, even Nana.
I think its a good thing, I hope Cross has a dominant year but it's just been odd how little he's mentioned.
Agreed, he was my Interior DL of the year. Though I do think Mills is primed for a breakout season as well.Anyone think it's odd how little Howard Cross has been mentioned this off season? So a slightly better season than Ian book? that is clear offensive mvpOrrrr... maybe we think that Sam does the job of an efficient QB and doesn't show out in a big way because he doesn't have to.
If the O-line and Estime do what they are capable of doing, and ND is a run dominant team that powers through the season, then Sam simply makes the plays that former ND quarterbacks haven't made = great season.
But thanks for getting in my head and putting my thoughts on the season out there...
Curious to see how he plays on an appropriate number of snaps… he shoots gaps great but at times gets pushed around too easyAnyone think it's odd how little Howard Cross has been mentioned this off season?
