From last year;

“Eight days before the first game of the 2022 season, the Irish have named six team captains. On Friday, the program announced that Bo Bauer, JD Bertrand, Avery Davis, Isaiah Foskey, Michael Mayer and Jarrett Patterson would hold the roles for the 2022 season.”

I can’t stand listening to Driskell for more than 10 minutes at a time. He just yacks to hear himself. He’s actually pretty knowledgeable and thoughtful in his takes, but beats them to death for hours on end.
I listen to his show the following morning when it’s downloaded on podcast while I run.

I fast forward past the rants & stupid stuff, and just listen for the breakdowns & the inside nuggets. I’ve known him long enough to pick up little things that give away stuff he doesn’t mean to give away.

I usually get through his 3 hour show in an hour, which is how long my morning run is, so it’s perfect.

Sounds like a great system

Position management and development aren't same thing right.

He got 9 wins from captain frump. That's saying something. Will be interesting to see how well he does at ASU. Rees could come out looking real good.
Exactly! I think his development of QBs has been very good!

Based off of the II pod, they won’t be at a full practice until 8/8. Sounds like that could be a full scrimmage.

They’re looking forward to seeing who the 4th linebacker is and who the 9th defensive lineman is. That’s how established this team is.

Kiser will be perfect for the dime where you have only one LB. He can cover the underneath stuff and doesn't miss tackles. Just don't make him cover guys 25 yards downfield.

I can't remember the last time there appeared to be so little competition across the depth chart at the start of camp (maybe I'm just overthinking this becasue there's no QB competition for once?). Seems like most of the youngsters will be vying for #2 spots, but outside of Safety (Watts/Henderson and Brown/Carter), and maybe nickel corner between Harper and Lewis, the defense seems pretty much set.

Offensively, maybe there will be some competition at WR if Greathouse, James or Flores could push someone like Merriweather or Colzie, but I don't see it, at least not initially. So, backup WR and RB will be interesting, TE may take some time to develop, but pretty much no drama across the board.
We tend to have homer fools gold eyes where in the past when there wasn't a clear number one we all thought "oh that's because we have 2 studs" in reality like the saying goes, if you don't have a clear number one, then you don't have a number one.

It's why I think we're set up really well this season. Really good talented experienced #1's with talented young #2's that will push.

There is something about the cadence of a southern accent that just works for football coaches. It doesn't always equal success, but Parker sure sounds the part.

I don't expect him to be as clever as someone like Rees, but I expect the offense to have more of a clear identity which I think is going to work with a team built to pound it and then take shots.

That’s great because I just read a headline that OSU doesn’t have a clear number 1 and same with Bama.

Look at the f'n coconut on Schrauth. Good lord

The most exciting thing about that picture is wagner starting to look like he has an offensive lineman arms and not those of a point guard on the freshman high school basketball team.

I’m still 100% convinced Wagner should be on the D line.

I don't need clever as long as he can counter an all-out blitz with a damn screen (Navy 2022).
