Irish trying desperately to hang on to what was a 22-point lead. 67-61 with 2 and a half to go.

KK with the steal. Jeff Walz going nuts. Technical. Ejected. Irish gonna win. Thanks Walz!

They tried their absolute hardest to give that game away.

They desperately need a 4th option on offense.

I was listening on the radio so didn't see it. Looked 50/50 to me. Could understand if they called a foul there. But certainly, looked like KK established position and remained vertical during the contact.

Let's just say if that happened to ND, I would be just as angry as Walz

Close call for sure, but I thought you don't have to stop if you establish position as long as you move back. Left or right and ND gets called for the foul.

Bingo. That was what I was insinuating with the establish position. She was moving back, arms vertical, guarding the offensive player who then created the contact against her. If that would have been a foul, then I guess the only thing she could have done was get out of the way and create a clear path to the basket. Which doesn't make sense.

Louisville bench seemed to be reacting more to the latter portion of the play after initial contact. Bransford's arm comes down across the Louisville player's wrist (around the :55 mark) and pulls down. I've watched the replay slowly numerous times. It seems like Bransford may have not even had any significant contact with the ball. Was that contact enough to keep the Louisville player from keeping/getting possession? Who knows. All I know is that if the roles were reversed, most ND fans would be angry.

Like I said. I wouldn’t have been surprised if it was called a foul. But reality is they’re still down by 3 IF they make both free throws with 18 seconds remaining. No guarantee it helps them win.

And as NDaccountanr said: this was the most fouls called against us all year. Radio announcers were pretty upset on an offensive call against Sonia. Looked like a block. Kylee had a terrible call occur for her fifth. Not even close to a foul according to announcers.

VT will be without Kitley for the tournament. Big plus for our ladies.

It's rich that this clip and play is what people will discuss, but not the 10 mins of horrific officiating that benefitted UL to that point.
They called almost 30 fouls on us. Its a wonder Watson was the only girl to foul out.

Louisville's guard lost the ball, looked like a clean play to me.

if i'm the irish coaching staff i'm taking the cardinal's playbook from the second half yesterday and using it against VT and just driving hard to the rim most of the game since they won't have Kitley and her shot blocking ability

Agreed. I also expect to see a lot of our high/low action between Westbeld and Watson as well.

It’s absolutely fantastic to see Sonia get back to her old self. She’s playing her best ball of the season.

At this point, you can’t consider this bad luck anymore. It’s either the shoes or the strength and conditioning program.
this is happening through all of wbb this season and so it isn't the shoes or strength or conditioning.

I don’t want to be disrespectful, but maybe Kylee Watson shouldn’t be trying to Euro step through the lane at her size. That’s a lot of force to put on her knee.

Becky is in sweats too. Not sure if she’s injured as well. If that’s the case then we have 6 scholarship players. That’s rough.
