Looking at next year’s roster, it would be a big win if Westbeld comes back for a final season. They could have a starting 5 of:

1.) Olivia Miles
2.) Hannah Hidalgo
3.) Sonia Citron
4.) Maddy Westbeld
5.) Kate Koval

Bench: Prosper, Risch, and the bigs

That’s a championship worthy starting 5.

Really could make a run...Does Westbeld come back? Weird there's never been any injury news on Prosper.

Very weird. No injury news directly from the team or player to the media covering ND on Miles either. She told Gus Johnson before a game he was doing and he reported it.
Some chatter that Prosper and Miles are capable of playing but have chosen to preserve eligibility. If that's true its not a major leap to conclude they'll be playing for someone else next year.

Most are optimistic about Westbeld coming back. Watson didn't participate in senior day so she's likely back. If Watson and Westbeld are back probably no room for Marshall.

probably because of the HIPPA law thing where she wants her medical issues to be private and a media worried about being sued if he or she reports her status without her permission.

True. But they talk about injuries all the time in other sports. Seems like there's something going on with WBB and injuries.

WBB, or specifically ND WBB? Honest question. I’m not in tune with enough of NCAA WBB to know if it’s happening just as much across the rest of the league, or if it’s disproportionate toward our program.

Because it certainly feels a lot of our injuries have been very hush hush.

I've wondered that. Hopefully not... Based on the coverage they give, I suppose we'll find out during warmups of the season opener next year..lol

In the era, it is always a possibility. Although, Miles tore her ACL and the end of the 2022-23 season. It might’ve been rushed if she played this season.

This team is fueled by the Hidalgo's play. When on defense I've seen other players try to steal the ball like her.

Big W vs VT on Thursday and we have a rivalry game tomorrow vs Louisville.

I think this year's team can make it to the Sweet 16, but next year's team is a championship team.

Why would they go elsewhere if they have a chance at a natty at ND? Is there significant NIL money at say UConn or some of the other big name southern schools?

Nice win by the ladies. Back to back wins over ranked teams. Struggled a little bit with rebounds in the second half, but made up for it with their D.

No hard info but spec is Miles doesn't want to share the ball with Hildago and Prosper not happy with 15-20 minutes a game which she'll be looking at if Westbeld returns.

What a second half performance!! I usually like to give good and bad critiques after the game but not today. Louisville is a rival and I’d love for them to go 0-30 every year if they could. Can’t stand Jeff Walz either. Anytime we can put it to that guy, I’m a happy man. Go Irish! Win the ACC tourney!

Side note- Hidalgo is amazing. She’s going to re write a lot of the record books. And if Miles does want to leave because of her, then good riddens. I’d take Hidalgo 10 out of 10 without batting an eye.

I’m fine losing Miles, but would be upset losing prosper. Her talent is very unique having a 6-2 wing player that’s more slasher than post, and who also plays excellent defense.

What can't Hidalgo do? 7 triple-doubles and almost 5 steals/game, she is fun to watch as much fun as she is having on the court.

Westbeld-- 11 rebounds, Watson-- double digit points. Nice win into what's turning into a fun rivalry to watch vs. Louisville.

I would be shocked if Miles left to be apart of the best back court in the nation next year. Prosper would be a nice option off the bench like Bransford this year.

Ivey seems like she could keep this group happy, hopefully she can keep everyone here for next season.

i really think that they have a good shot at winning the ACC post season tournament title if they keep playing like this where Westbeld, Hildalgo and Soni are all scoring well like these past few games.

That starting lineup for next year could be a game-changer if Westbeld returns. that's a strong team! Add in Prosper, Risch, and the bigs on the bench, and we've got a championship-worthy squad.

Her energy is crazy. Hardly a difference between the 1st and 2nd halves. She must get to the locker room and pass out from exhaustion after every game.

Our chances just got better. Kitley, the VaTech center got hurt yesterday and Va Tech is in our Semifinal bracket.
We would have to win in the quarters first, probably Louisville

Looks like she finished 3rd in the ACC POY category behind 2. Fair and 1. Kitley

i see finishing 2nd to Kitley but no way Fair should have finished 2nd over Hannah. Fair was really good this regular season but didn't put up the big numbers consistently like Hannah did.

Awesome! Hopefully we hear the same news with Westbeld and Prosper and I seriously think we’ll steamroll through the ACC easily on our way to a Final Four appearance at minimum.
