It will be interesting to see how KC handles their receivers this year. I wouldn't bet against Reid and Mahomes, but they are facing an uphill battle currently with the unit and what they recently had.

The Lions are going to be really good this year, and their fan base is going to be insufferable as I live near Detroit, but they have been awful for a long time and deserve a good team to root for finally. Dan Campbell is so easy to like, and I think Brad Holmes has done a remkarable job of putting together a roster that fits what Campbell is trying to do on the field. Physical football.

Before you question how annoying their fan base can be, remember, 50%+ are also skunkbears so you know what type of people I'm dealing with here, lol

Shit man I believed ya even before you mentioned that. They were talking big time this entire offseason for a team that...missed the playoffs last year. This is what happened the first time they made the playoffs with Stafford too, they got incredibly big-headed, forgetting that their franchise is known for wasting multiple generational talents to the point of these Hall of Famers retiring early rather than playing another down for Detroit.

I never question how annoying a Michigan fan can be.

Lions are improved no doubt. The safety they brought over from Philly is legit. Their division will be interesting this year.

As a Browns die hard I never begrudge other long suffering bases their joy. I’m still happy for Eagles fans that they finally won one. I’ll be happy for the Lions if and when they win one (unless they beat the browns in the Super Bowl of course). We suffered through two decades of the most insufferable pro sports fans winning every major sports title all within the same era and had to hear it. Nothing will ever compare to that in terms of annoying fans. Let the loyal fans who have never known real joy with that team in their entire lives have a bit.

I thought Sam LaPorta looked really really good for his first professional game. My Michael Mayer glasses were firmly on, too.

For sure, and especially considering the Lions are missing a consistent #2 at receiver, LaPorta is gonna be getting a lot of targets.
3 Star recruit with a 5.5 rating on Rivals. Did he have an offer from Illinois? Nope.

FCS state directional schools and the MAC were all he had to his name. Remarkable.

They looked better defensively. The offense left quite a bit to be desired.

On the other hand, KC's defense looked very sharp too, and their offense needs some fine tuning as well.

Bengals are still clowns for not bringing the hometown hero home. Mayer will have a longer career than LaPorta and Kincaid.

Getting Kelce back will help the offense a ton. Also, Jones is supposed to report around midseason. Still don't think it's KC's year. Lost too much including even Bienemy.

Matt Nagy being the OC is pretty damning

Jim Schwartz is gonna make a huge difference

Woods almost single handily destroyed multiple years worth of great browns rosters… the amount of shoot out loses from his era,… ugh

Pittsburgh getting blown out at home surprised me. SF's defense is legit and Purdy keeps rolling coming off injury.

There are going to be people who will insist he is THE problem when he is only PART of the problem. Fields averaged 3.1 yards per air attempt, a career low as a starter. He was pressured on 65.1 percent of his dropbacks, the second-highest total of his career. The offense had five penalties and opened the game with back-to-back failures with inches to go for a first down.

They already had to reshuffle the line due to injuries and the defense was playing together for the first time because of injuries in preseason as well. The offensive play calling was...interesting. The OL looks about the same as it was last year based on the first 60 minutes.

The defensive scheme they are in is way too soft for the NFL in 2023. There was no pass rush, very soft coverage and a complete lack of aggression going after Jordan Love who, in all honesty, probably isn't that good.

Green Bay is still a better organization right now. The Bears have two first round picks come April.
