Dale: I love you and I know you’re a serious poster but who gives a fuck about moral victories? Is Reese any better with Kelly gone? I don’t believe so!

You have Matt Salerno on the field and makes the dumbest mistake I’ve seen if Brian Kelly was still around he would be absolutely excoriated for doing this!

We are still no better than when Brian Kelly was coaching us

No one you named I said deserves a moral victory and everyone you named I said needs to be better lol

I think our offense will get better. It almost has to (and all involved perhaps underrated the talent and speed of Ohio State's defense). If it does and our defense plays week-in, week-out like they did tonight, we're a 10-win team. That's pretty good.

It's frustrating because we actually could have won that game. But the interior OL was hot garbage without Patterson, and our DL got worn down. Losing in the trenches is not what any of us were expecting this morning.

* TERRIBLE game from Rees. In a road game against one of the best offenses in the country, you cannot go ultra conservative for 4 quarters. Late in the first half, running on first down, THEN taking a shot on second? Gave OSU another chance late in the half. Unacceptable. Three straight runs on 1st and 25, down in the fourth? Are you kidding me? Running plays to the edge with Tyree on the short side of the field?

* Buchner was okay, I thought, considering the circumstances. Very inconsistent and the inexperience was obvious at times.

* Estime is obviously RB1. Looked like he was in on 90% of the snaps.

* This WR corps sucks. Not a single receiver with more than one reception. What happened to Styles after that opening play? Elite teams do not have guys like Matt Salerno playing significant snaps at this position.

* OL. Woof.

* The defense played a great game honestly. One huge blunder on that second OSU TD but otherwise a solid game called by Al Golden.

* Tariq Bracy stood out to me in particular. Thought he played a very nice game.

* Saw a lot more Benjamin Morrison than I expected.

* Grupe with a nice FG right down the center. Jon Sot started rough but he had a very nice game after the first couple punts. And we consistently were getting kickoffs into the endzone! Not bad!

* Our return game is absolute dogshit. Fielding a kickoff at like the 5 and failing to even get back to our own 15 on multiple occasions. Fair catching punts deep in ND territory with 10 yards of open space ahead.

* Field position was AWFUL all game. Forcing our mediocre offense and young QB to go 90 yards every drive will not win many games.
"The defense played a great game honestly. One huge blunder on that second OSU TD but otherwise a solid game called by Al Golden."

How many games are we going to hear this exact excuse? I'm gonna nip It in the ass right now... 1 play that shouldn't have had safeties in and we are giving excuses already... barf bag type stuff

I think *most* of us predicted a loss, but then we watched the game and realized it was a game that we could have definitely won…on the road…in Columbus…and now we’re in our feels.

It was pretty dope to be competent in prime time against a top five team. Any slander from talking heads this week is bullshit. We battled.

Del Alexander is up there with BVG as one of the worst ever Kelly hires. We're screwed at WR for years.
Every other team in the top 10 would have scored 6 on the first play of the game. Slow isn't an excuse. but i too, believe we'll get better

Everyone needs time but we couldn’t finish out the Fiesta Bowl or this game. Not calling for anyone to be fired but I’m not sold in the slightest on our future.

I genuinely believe ND wins that game if they swap QBs. Stroud just made the winning plays. That’s a take it as you will on a lot of fronts with regards to basically everyone on the offense. In that regard, we’re still exactly where we all knew we were, QB play that can elevate the rest, the program as a whole to another level.

Couldn’t run the ball against a weak OSU D with a young qb. Game over
Here's a news flash - that was not a weak OSU defense as they gutted last year's staff and paid their new DC close to $2 million. Every major power was after their new DC - Jim Knowles. That is going to be one tough team to beat once their offense starts rolling. OSU basically took over in the 2nd half. ND has no reason to hang their heads.

Yes. The old fashioned Kirk and company slandering and jinxing us the whole time included... ESPN/ABC has gotta be the worst of all time broadcast crew. It's just so obvious that the 12 team playoff better find some unbiased crews, and they better find em quick.
If we got half the calls theOSU got in the first quarter we would have possibly won... coulda, woulda, shoulda.... Damn

Tbh I don’t think I’ve ever watched a game where Kirk was just such an unabashed homer. I know the dude is a Buckeye, but damn. He and Fowler tag teaming slobbing all over OSUs knob made it hard to watch.

He didn't rack up a ton of yards but some of those throws he made to keep drives going. Holy shit.

Judging ND’s offense after tonight is a fool’s errand.

First time starter at QB. Kid hasn’t started a football game since 2019…in HS. And his 1st start is in the Horseshoe…in primetime…vs #2 team in the nation that will likely be in the CFP.

So if you’re calling for Rees & Buchner to be replaced after today then you are assuming they will turn in similar performances & not improve over the next 11 games. That’s a high standard under a first year HC.

I prefer to let it play out a few more games before firing/cutting everyone.

- Buchner looks the same as last year. Some flashes of brilliance but very inconsistent as a passer, he just does not look like a natural passer and i think never will be. He is a tough and confident kid though.
- Estime is very good, he is a better version of Robert Hughes. I think he will be the best of the bunch.
- Wide Receivers did nothing, zero separation and they looked slow. I saw a lot of snaps for Jaylen Thomas and he did nothing. Styles looked slow. Almost nothing from Lenzy. Just a very bad night for them.
- OL was average at best, the Center was bad.
- Foskey has had a really dissapointing night, he looked slow on the edge. Howard Cross had some really nice plays.
- Linebackers are just average. Love the energy from Liaufu but he offers very little.
- Clarence Lewis was OK. Harts stocks went down tonight. Jaden Mickey was badly beaten on the TD. The other true freshman looked good.

Agree to disagree, there. He gave up the TD, but was singled up in the slot and Stroud threw a dime.

Why did people think this Buckeye defense wouldn't be good? 2021 means nothing. Over the last 4 years I'm showing they've picked up five 5 stars, twenty-six 4 stars, and only four 3 stars on defense. That doesn't even count Athletes they've recruited and moved over. They had tons of talent to work with, and they brought in one of the best defensive coordinators in the country. Many people here kept saying it will take weeks or longer for a new coordinator to implement a scheme and improve a defense, but that's a horrible wives tale that's been proven wrong time and time again. Good coordinators can make impacts right away, especially if they have a ton of talent to work with. This was a very good defense, and our OL and WRs were not up to the task.

I’ve been calling for Rees’s head for years.
