Sad when the basketball thread is the top post during football season......."here's your sign!" 🤣

Looks like we're getting another commitment tomorrow, Parker Freidrickson a 6-4 shooting guard from Bixby, Okla. 3 star ranked #127 by Rivals. I hope his listed weight of 165 is a couple years old.

Very "Brey Ball" recruit. But we are losing a ton of "wing shooter" types from this year's team so he'll probably have a chance to play early.

I'd love to see some more size but it looks like the only other target in this year's class is Jackson and he's 6-3. Much higher rate than the others though.

There's always the portal and even if you're limited to players from high academic schools (as we appear to be) with 350 or so Division 1 schools there's plenty who fit that category.

Class is shaping up nicely despite some of the misses that Brey had. Moves them up to the 15th ranked class. This kid looks like the real deal in terms of shooting ability, let's see if he puts in the work in the gym in other aspects. Need to close on Elmarko Jackson to continue the run of getting an elite playmaker in the class.

Prister said the other day that they were looking to add one more commitment from a recruit and then two transfers. We’ll see if this shuts down high school recruiting for 2023.

They have Elmarko Jackson visiting October 30th per on3 so hopefully one more. Might be a reach given the competition ND is going up against for him, but official visit means they're in it. Regardless, there is no size in this class. I want a 7 foot rim protector just once in my fandom.

Class is now #20 on Rivals. Surprised to see Burton, the PG from Mishawaka is our highest rated recruit and the kid from Cal the lowest (all in the 100-150 range). Burton has really shot up the rankings this summer.

He REALLY showed out this summer on the AAU circuit. I saw him at a couple different venues and he really was outplaying his ranking at that point. He’s a steal—maybe not a Blake level steal—but he’s going to be a good one.

Since Brey and the staff landed JJ, I give them a good shot at landing Elmarko Jackson.

I like the quickness and the sharing of the basketball in the video. This team looks like they can make a run.

Brey brining Solomon back was a great move.

I wish Blake would've stayed...with him they could've made a deep run.

Maybe it’s the video but they just look very small.

I think they should be good enough to make another run to the tourney...I just fear any team with a competent big man. I have a feeling we are going to get owned in the paint, unless I'm missing something. Is Zona expected to take a giant leap? Nate going to defend our opponents' 5s?

Lubin is going to be the starter according to Noie.

Just looking at those practice highlights it looks like Zona will be a liability on defense.

I thought he was a small forward? He's going to be guarding opposing centers?

Elmarko Jackson moved his official up to this weekend and is arriving today per II. Need to knock this out of the park.

This would be a nice surprise if the Irish could pull this off. Too bad he wasn't visiting next weekend for the Stanford game.

Sounds like it’s a good thing he isn’t coming on a football weekend. Think it’s probably case by case for recruits but just reading what some of the guys on the beat have said, ND’s biggest selling point is that he’s going to be the man on the court and can showcase his skills, whereas on the other schools he’s considering, he’d be one of a dozen blue chip recruits.

Jackson is announcing Thursday.
Official visits to Miami, Kansas, Texas and this past weekend to ND.

ND visit was orig scheduled for Oct 30th but got moved up to this past weekend.

Had planned on taking his 5th official visit to Virginia and then announce mid-November.

On the surface, this seems to be thing’s coinciding with coming off his ND visit. But it’s possible that he pushed up the ND visit because he fell in love with one of his other schools. Who knows.

If this were football, I'd like our chances with the move up. Since basketball recruiting is so unknown, who the hell knows.
Would be an amazing pull.

With a Kansas offer, I am inclined to think that Lawrence is the final destination.
