After 247 updated their rankings and their composites, here is the list of RB offers that ND has sent out. There are still some question marks as to who is being recruited at what position, but I'm pretty sure DeaMonte Trayanum is visiting ND with the purpose of meeting Lance Taylor which would lead me to believe he's a RB recruit, Daniyel Ngata was offered as a RB but idk if the staff is even recruiting him anymore as there hasn't been a peep in about 14 months since his visit.
For RB recruiting I am really excited about the prospects that ND is chasing. I think the position starts with Bijan Robinson & Chris Tyree as the top prizes. Bijan obviously seems to be interested in Ohio State with the influx of CB's, but I think there's a long way to go in the recruitment considering he's never been to Ohio State or Notre Dame (only 99% sure he hasn't been to OSU). Tyree is fascinating because he's been to ND where they laid out the red carpet and now they managed to convince him to take a 2nd unofficial to meet Lance Taylor in March followed by a 3rd visit in June. By his 3rd visit in June, it could be possible that he'll have visited his rumored top 3 (Oklahoma, ND, and Bama) with 3 visits going to ND and probably 2 to Bama and Oklahoma. Visit amounts don't matter enormously when you've visited multiple time at multiple places, but I think ND is doing all they can in that recruitment and hopefully they can pull it off.
The next grouping I would consider Seth McGowan, Michael Drennen II, and Tirek Murphy. I think they are all really really good, they've all shown some level of interest in ND, and they're all heavily recruited (27 offers or more for each dude). I think Tirek Murphy would be the best of this grouping as he's a super talented kid, has a bunch of high academic offers, and is visiting ND in March. Michael Drennen II I really like as he has 30 offers to his name, is close by which could be an advantage, has almost all of the top academic offers, and has already met Lance Taylor. Seth McGowan included ND in his top 8 and ND went down to visit him several times during the winter recruiting period, but until he sets up a visit then it is hard to know how interested he really is.
Then you have all of the 3 star kids like DeaMonte Trayanum, Reggie Love, JuTahn McClain, Kyle Edwards, and newly offered Kobe Pryor. A few are really strong prospects and have lots of interest in Notre Dame. Trayanum, from everything I've read and understand, seems like an OSU lock virtually. I think he's a good prospect, but I'd almost rather steer clear or be cautious because even if he did commit to ND he could be a candidate to flip if OSU circled back and had interest. I think Reggie Love is a strong prospect and good fit, but I think he's a good plan B if the higher end dudes don't work out.
Overall, I really hope ND can land 1-2 of Bijan Robinson, Chris Tyree, Seth McGowan, Michael Drennen II, or Tirek Murphy. My dream class would be Chris Tyree and Tirek Murphy. Either way, this position group looks good right now and I'm excited to see what Lance Taylor can do with it.
