Visiting in July.

Plans to take OV's to

ND
Ole Miss
GT
Louisville
Penn St

So pencil him in for the UGA game.

.

That would be good since he's more interested in Georgia Tech than Georgia. His HS is within 30 minutes of Tech's campus. Like the kid's size. Rivals has him as the #65 player in state of Georgia which in this state is pretty good.

Telly? His offer list is waaaaaaay better than the 1600th ranked player on 247

I think it gets to a point where analysts say, We can't have fiddy 4 stars in one metro area. There are so many underrated guys in places like Atlanta, Tampa, Miami, DFW, Houston, New Orleans & SoCal because analysts get talent fatigue and figure there has to be someone in Kansas/Arkansas/Colorado/Iowa/Minnesota/Kentucky/etc... who is better than the lowest rated guy from Metro X.

Yeah but they could at least give him a 3rd star.

IMG stud from S. Carolina. Not getting any hopes up here, but it would be a great get.

Committed to Bama. I'm much happier with ND's commits.

Not sure how important a 2nd RB is to this class. I just can't see a 2nd RB, as a big need. The staff would obviously take a guy they like but our depth chart looks pretty good.

Yea, should have at least 4 next year, likely 5. Not a big need. Probably grab 2 next year though.

Skip RB this year.

McIntosh can always pull and Theo Riddick if needed.

Shortly after I posted that I read Prister's Thursday Thoughts and working with 22 scholarships for this class, I feel really confident in saying a 2nd RB is VERY low on the list of priorities.

If we can squeeze in 10 more for a total of 22 I'll take the following:

OG- Salyer (preferred) Taimani (backup option)
OT- Craig
DE- Oweh
LB-Lamb
TE- Tremble
CB- Plummer
CB- Burton
CB- To be determined
WR- Austin
WR- To be determined (St. Brown would make for a nice surprise or Tommy Bush)

Damn, you're right. He's a definite take. Could we only take Austin and Jones at WR with Tremble playing a TE/WR role? Or if Salyer doesn't come pass on OG? Or find some way to take 23? Could be facing some tough decisions.

If this is such a down year at O Line, do they try to save a spot for 2019?

After reading ISD Intel, based on his interview, Shayne Simon is not the slam dunk we think he is. He talked higher about UCLA than either Michigan or ND, and kind of dismissed talking positively about either. He said he was comfortable about Michigan, but his mom being a grad doesn't impact his decision. He actually didn't say anything about ND, other than answer a QU about ND and Michigan being his leaders, to which he responded "No, I wouldn't say that". Then went on to talk about how much he loves UCLA and their coaches.

So basically, following II, Mcgrone is leaning to Michigan, Shayne Simon is less ND than we thought, Lamb is now leaning to UCLA, Donald Johnson likes Iowa more than ND, and Houston Griffith is going everywhere but.

Still don't have a corner committed, but lost one in June.

At least we're getting Deangelo McKenzie, a 3-star, 5'11" safety than runs a 4.7 when we don't need another safety.

Pretty sweet June we've had, lol.

Lamb and Griffith were a long shot at best. UM can have McGrone. I don't buy the UCLA hype for Simon. Remember when CJ Holmes tweeted a top 4 that didn't have ND in it just before he committed to ND? I'd say it's similar to that.

And I'd say we did have a pretty good June-July. We landed Takacs and our commits balled out at the opening

Sounds like they wanted another because at least one of the current safeties is not returning and another may be on the way out also. I would have held out to the end and taken Moala, even stuffing him into a prep school if I had to. I think he and TE Anthony Torres would have taken that offer.

Did the staff actually bank on Ashton White playing as a safety? I don't see his departure mattering. They took 2 safeties last year, and have Allen and the Navy transfer in this year's class. Why do we need a 3rd low tier safety prospect in this class?

That's where he is/was on the depth chart so that's all the answer i can give you.

i don't think they need another safety even with one leaving but here are a few things to consider... who gives a sh!t about the ratings of a tweener DB. The services are ill equipped to gauge the value of these guys and ATH's. McKenzie isn't coming from Idaho. He actually plays at a Top 30 Cali program that Maxpreps ranked in their Top 250. His film is really good, even if it's a lil short due to injury. Lastly, if you want to hammer the DE & the CB recruiting, go for it but when it comes to safeties, Elko might have earned a lifelong pass already. He has maybe the best all around DB in the country committed and when it comes to prospecting, identifying and developing UTR prospects, he'll always have Jesse Bates as his trump card and you can't argue with it.

We could land 15 5 stars a year and Kelly would find a way to go 8-5. Talent is not the problem. Culture , lack of passion and genuineness is.

Win 10-11 and Kelly persuades the desperate NFL to hire him or go 4-8 and buy him out.

And after the Opening Lamb to ND sounds probable which means McGrone doesn't have a spot. Simon is a strong ND lean. Griffith did not look good at the Opening playing corner. Donald Johnson, meh. I like the two Georgia corners better. They are both visiting this month. Kevin Austin and Tommy Tremble will be Irish before end of summer. Salyer is locked in for an official visit. Pretty sweet beginning to month of July.
