Saw SC QB commit Kedon Slovis & Desert Mountain @ Chaparral w/ Ohio St QB commit Jack Miller last night. Chapparal won 35-16. Star of the game was Chaparral's D and OSU RB commit, Darvon Hubbard.

WR Tommy Christakos did have a 70 yard TD and can he nail kick off's.

In other local news...

Jake Smith had 6 more TD's last night to go with 5 from last week. Dude's the most unrealist. Time to offer his brother Gavin who's in 9th grade. Word is he's physically ahead of Jake at the same age.

Henderson (NV) Liberty came down to #2 Saguaro and beat em. Liberty was #2 in NV behind Bishop Gorman... who lost to Mater Dei at home 42-0.

Kiser and his #1 Pioneer 1A juggernauts beat Winamac 76-0. It was 62-0 at half.

Sounds like Kiser was feeding his teammates. Only stats I saw were 2 carries for 65 yards, an Int and a 40 yard punt return.

That MD Gorman game sure was a barn burner..... anyway my boys went to Downtown LA last night and pulled out a 7 point victory. I haven’t been on the staff in about five years or so but I still enjoy following them.

I guess MD is pretty darn good. I taped the O Lu/Corona Centennial game. I heard Hilinski looked a lot better than when I saw him the previous week. It sounds like O Lu just ran out of gas.

Our two local high schools (Bryant & Benton in central Arkansas) annually play a rivalry kickoff game at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. It drew just under 40,000 folks which is a big deal for Ark HS football.

Unfortunately, they didn’t get to finish as a fight broke out outside the stadium. When the barrier was knocked over, it sounded like gun shots. Then one of the idiots in the fight pulls out a taser under the bleacers in concession area where it also sounded like gun shots.

The video of the mass hysteria is scary in the moment when no one realizes if it’s gunplay or not. My kids were scared to death. They ended up cancelling the game which was in the 3rd quarter at the time. Security was more concerned w/ fans sneaking in water bottles vs. tasers or other potentially harmful items.

Sad.

ND feeder Bishop Miege (KS) beat Blue Valley North & Graham Mertz 33-21.

Mertz was 24-46 ... 317 yd ... 2 TD & 3 INTs.

Daniel Jackson had a TD before getting injured. Hopefully nothing too serious, was expected in South Bend on Saturday.

Thursday night football last night... good guys came back to earn their first home win in their new digs 21-17. Big rivalry game next week, I'm not too hopeful for that one though.

This was a big win for WC - they look to be the real deal this year.

On the south side of town....Roncalli starts the season 0-2, fires a counselor for being a Lesbian and the principle is outed for dropping the N-bomb...been a tough few weeks in Rebel country.

Flashes get the job done. Good day to be a Flash.

I thought she hadn’t been fired yet, though it is expected next week.

MIC down this year? Center Grove gets rolled by New Pal, Ben Davis loses to Avon and Lawrence Central loses.

Her interview on the Ellen Show got bumped in favor of Cher...LOL!! :)

Was supposed to go to OC to see Pinnacle vs JSerra but my real job got in the way. Rattler and Pinnacle did better than I thought they would vs the #3 team in CA (#3 team in the Trinity League too) losing 42-35.

Instead, I went to see '20 QB Ben Finley and Paradise Valley vs Shadow Mtn. Finley is the younger brother of NC State's Ryan Finley. By my not so official stats, he had around 300 yds passing and 75 yards rushing in a 34-31 victory.

Finley somehow isn't rated yet but has offers from Iowa State, Colo St and Nevada. Being recruited by Northwestern, Vandy and NC State among others.

If there was no Drew Pyne or if '20 was a year ND took 2, Ben Finley would be near the top of my list. That 4.4 GPA doesn't hurt either. He should end up a 4* with ease. Has started every game at QB since game one as a freshman.

Interestingly, PV only had 22 varsity players dressed. The school has an enrollment of 1900. We seriously played that many guys on varsity during my Sr. year... in basketball.

The QB talent in PHX metro right now is almost on par with OC during 2015's... Year of the QB. I'm very fortunate to have been smack dab in the middle of both.

Next week it's Crusader& lil Crusaderette heading to NDP for Desert Mtn (Kedon Slovis SC QB commit) at Notre Dame Prep (Jake Smith) and now more importantly 2020 OL Cade Bennett, who's actively being recruited by ND.

Southern Columbia continues to roll this season here in PA. Defeated Shamokin 48-0, which is coached by legendary SC fullback Henry Hynoski. He went on to play at Pitt, and was a part of the Giants last Super Bowl winning team. Have to expect Southern will win another AA title here in PA as Roth continues his climb towards the most wins in PA history chasing George Curry.

We'll see who gets Mossed when Elkhart Central and Memorial consolidate in a couple of years. The new Elkhart High will have 3500 students. Penn's been playing close games with 5A and 4A teams this year. The NIC in general is a joke of a conference now a days. Penn and the Elkhart should join the DAC and play with schools that at least have 2000 students.

Penn lost to Mishawaka last night 49-42 in OT. Mishawaka has been a thorn in Penn's side for about the last 8 years. Mishawaka has had a good year, as their only loss is to Marist in Illinois.

I doubt Penn, or anyone in 6A, has a chance to win state this year if they aren't names Warren Central. They're nationally ranked, right? They kicked the shit out of a KY team last night 62-7

They absolutely annihilated that highly ranked KY team last night.

*They should be higher than top 10. Ben Davis last year finished 4th, and that is regarded as the best team in Indiana history.

HOT TAKE: This WC team is WAYYYY better than that BD team

Going to see Tosh Baker (and Spencer Rattler) take on the Ohio State boys from Chaparral tonight. Should be fun.

Big shout out to the homies back in Michigan City tonight as they open up 5A Sectional play vs Munster. City should roll through the north until they get to Semi-State where New Pal will most likely be waiting. Maxpreps has New Pal at #2 overall in the state behind only 6A Warren Central. City lost in OT to IL's #7 OA Homewood-Flossmor so a stacked Indy team shouldn't shock them but I've seen enough New Pal games over the past 5 years on the Farm Bureau Network to know that won't be fun.

Usually, the best teams in KY are the 6A Louisville schools (Trinity, St. X, Male, etc.).

This year, the 5A state championship game features the best two teams in the state, regardless of class.

Michael Mayer's Covington Catholic squad will take on Jacob Lacey's South Warren squad in what should be an excellent game on Sunday, Dec. 2, at Kroger Field in Lexington.

Mayer's squad is well-rounded and very tough to defend. Mayer is a big-time target down the field in the passing game, as is his teammate Jack Coldiron (Miami OH commit). They keep the DB's back with their passing game, which opens things up for their speedy RB.

Lacey's squad is probably the best defense that CovCath will have seen all year, but CovCath has a lot of options and weapons for attacking defenses, as well as a head coach that is an extremely gifted play caller. Lacey is going to need to be in full-on gamewrecker mode, both in terms of controlling the LOS against the run and in terms of getting home for sacks. That might not be as easy as it has been throughout the year, because CovCath's center is a guy that has been hurt but is now back and healthy, and is starting to get some late DI interest.

Really excited for the game. The KHSAA charges an insane premium to stream the state championship games, so I might have to head to Lexington to scout our commits in person.

Hopefully there is a replay stream on NFHS or on Reddit. I really wanna see this game too but I'll be at the ND recruiting combine at Sun Devil Stadium as Salpointe Catholic and Saguaro go at it. There are 10+ ND level kids on the 2 teams in the '20 & '21 classes. Lathan Ransom and Kellee Ringo already have offers. I expect Bijan Robinson to steal the show. ND should've offered last season. He's close to 2500 yds at 16 ypc.

I'm thinking about making an appearance to check out the future Irish. As long as the weather is decent.
