ND covers and that pays for 5 of the Amazon shares I picked up on Friday. If they don't, they really screwed up my cost average.

Keep in mind that I will be at the game when you are making your prediction.

Basically guarantees a close loss (I was @Michigan 2011, @Clemson, @Texas).

I have not been to a game this season or last season.

As I am typing I am wondering why I am going.

FTR I meant to click on ND by 4-8 instead of 9-13.

I feel good about the defense and I believe the O can scratch out four touchdowns.

I went with Clemson ~8-12. This feels to me like one of those 30-21 games where we're about what we expected: fought hard as the underdog, made it close for ~2-3 quarters, but the game was never in doubt.

ND doesn't get blown out, but Clemson wins comfortably. We all look at the each other afterwards and say "we should have known there was good reason for that spread".

Prove me wrong team!

Feel like we always say something along these lines, but truly feel this is the most important ND game of my lifetime (40 years).

There is no going back after this one. This is it. End of the line. We will find out in two days if this program can ever win a natty again.

Get it done boys, victory is the only option, failure is not.

ND 26
Clemson 22

I think Clemson by 10...

Long and Lea will have some things in store, and ND will lead at some point early, maybe even for most of the first half, but Clemson’s experience and depth on the DL will make ND too one-dimensional for too long, and the Tigers will kick a field goal to make it a two-score game late.

I agree w/ the Sampson/Prister/O’Mally...beating Clemson would be the biggest win for ND football since defeating FSU in 1993.

Im not 100% sure on this.

OSU got rocked by Clemson 31 to flippin goose-egg and still is considered one of the best programs around. And they have zero restrictions on their recruiting or who they can get into their program.

Bama and Clemson will only last so long. Eventually something happens and their program stalls. With Saban gone, Bama will be back to a mid conference team. Dabo will be in the pros eventually which takes Clemson back to being SCARs whipping post.

Right now both teams are doing shady stuff. Shady doesnt survive forever. Ask Meyer.

Can ND step into the top dog spot? I think deep down every ND fan knows the truth to that one. If a person loves ND because they are the nations best, they are probably loving ND for the wrong reason entirely.

Is this even debatable? I'm not sure what win would even come close.

Not only has OSU survived but they have (or at least had this past summer) the highest recruiting APR since that game. Not one talking head brings that up, instead it's the 2012 NC narrative / lazy sensational journalism angle that gets played. ND isn't going anywhere. In fact, if one or both of the new pro football leagues decides to take HS'ers... ND might just be sitting in the ole catbird's seat.

ND by 2 if the game plan is Book tossing it quick, early, and very often short and intermediate.
ND by 9 with the same as above and a little luck or generous calls.
Clemson by 14 if we come out and try to run it at them from the start.

Add 7 to ND if we throw Lenzy in for a few deep go routes AFTER Book eats them up short.
Add 7 to ND if Lea dials up some aggressive/exotic pressures and gets to the QB EARLY.

So if Lea brings some funky pressure and rattles Lawrence early, ND doesn't try to run it down their throats but instead makes Book toss it quick on short/intermediate routes while getting some lucky calls, then throws it long to Lenzy a few times ND wins by 25?

I like it.

+7 if they use Alize on some intermediate over the top tosses instead of limiting him to the sidelines...

so could be 32 :)

-7 for every two times Long has Book throw to the intermediate middle-left under pressure...

BK rarely tries to force things the opposing defense is trying to stop (or is just dominant at). Which is why in 2012 we aired the ball out when we had been a running/ball control offense. Didn't blow anybody away on offense but it was a far more respectable outing than what the defense did that game.

I think we're going to blow the doors off them. We have a smart, tough and disciplined team with good coaching, a reliable quarterback and veteran leadership on both sides of the ball. They have played exactly no one this season and are looking ahead to Bama. We score a couple early, their running game disappears and their freshman QB presses. Notre Dame 34, Clemson 17.

(I may have had a bit to drink tonight)

Notre Dame - No Excuses - 35
Clemson - Dabo’s pathetic shoulder shrugs - 17

I’m also tacking on a projection that Wimbush is at the helm at some point in the game when ND scores.

ND - 31
Clemson - 21

I expect ND to surprise some people, but when they do you will hear the pundits saying that Clemson was over-rated. They will never admit that Notre Dame earned the right to play for the NC.

Oklahoma - 45
Alabama - 38

In the other game, I expect an Oklahoma upset victory. Kyler Murray is the type of quarterback that has historically given Alabama difficulty. He leads a high-octane offense and can both pass and run. Oklahoma's offense is the type that can be effective against the Alabama defense.

I saw quite a few of these polls this season with people betting against the Irish.

Everytime was the wrong decision.

Irish 14+ for the win.

All heart. No brain no pain.

I went ND by 1-3. I had a very vivid dream the other night that ND wins on a last second FG. Basically played out the entire game already and I'm hoping that's what happens in real life.
