Really want a cupcakeish bowl opponent after this SOS.

Iowa state fit the bill nicely.

I don't understand what our SOS has to do with a bowl. Well have had a month off. A tough schedule won't impact our bowl at all after a month off.

If anything we were playing fatigued during the year due to a tough SOS, and theoretically will play better in our bowl game.

Going for the W.

10 wins is a admiral year

Personally I just don't see the benefit in playing a really tough but meaningless bowl game that potentially could end the season on 3 losses in 4 games and an entire off season of "fire BK"

You're right but idk that was his point... I think he's just asking for as easy a game as possible in the bowl for a change of pace.

who cares where they play, as long as they get more practice time

the game itself is just a glorified scrimmage and is not any kind of indicator what next season is going to be.

I want us to play the best/highest ranked team that is out there...and them beat them. Listen to ourselves!!!!

Does anyone what we need (apart from losses ahead of us) for the Cotton Bowl? Do we have to in the Top-12 or anything like that?

Whether you think a bowl game outside of the NY6 games is irrelevant or not, a bowl win for Notre Dame is really important this year.

1.) "A 10 win season with wins against 3 ranked opponents (2 of them against rivals). All while breaking in a new QB, new OC, new DC, new S&C, etc." sounds a lot better than "A 9 win season, but we lost 3 or our last 4 games. Still an improvement from just 4 wins in 2016, although."

2.) Bowl wins, whether high marquee or not, can carry so much momentum going into the last 4-5 weeks of the recruiting cycle.

3.) A bowl win this year will most likely be against a ranked opponent. Brian Kelly really needs that so he and the staff can use it to vault the team into the offseason and Spring ball.

Get back to what you did the first 8-9 games of the season. Run the ball, control the LOS, and play physical, bend but don't break defense. I can live with 10-3 going into NSD and the offseason.

Absolutely agree. Try and pick the bowl game with the best chance of winning.

Zero upside in losing a close game to a good team who presents match up issues for ND like ok st.

OK State doesn't really scare me. Rudolph is overrated as hell and as Saban once famously said, I think Notre Dame would run through them like shit through a tin horn.

OU's defense isn't that great. Not that I think our defense is capable of stopping OSU. We couldn't even stop Stanford's slowass receivers or fat tight ends. Stanford's mediocre QB was running around chucking up dead ducks that our defenders couldn't do anything to stop it. Probably our most embarrassing defensive performance of the year.

I do think OU has a pretty good D. They held tOSU to 16. Shut down TCU today.

I would rather play Iowa st. Or even Stanford again.

Oklahoma's defense is ranked 81st in total team defense and 52 in scoring defense sandwiched between noted defensive juggernauts Arkansas St. and UCF.

For this to happen, Bama has to go to the playoffs and the big 10 go to the orange bowl. I hope that happens. F the Buckeyes.

The Playoff Committee picking the "Final 4" will only be 10 instead of 13. 3 have to recuse themselves due to their tie-ins with the Big 10.

So, I believe Alabama will be in and the Irish will be in the Citrus.

So unless we somehow sneak into the Peach, we’re basically looking at Citrus vs an SEC school or Camping World vs a Big 12? I’d vote Citrus for matchup, and marquee (Jan 1 beats Dec 28) all day.

Yes Sir. And I agree; play SC in the Citrus!
