Hot shooting start for ND, Pflueger, Farrell, and Gibbs all hit 3s in the first 4 minutes.

8-8 now, 26 points. Cross over step back 3s from about 30 feet, nothing but net.

Pretty much a perfect offensive half for ND except for one possession where Rex dribbled for 15 seconds and took a bad contested shot that lead to a transition 3.

School record tying 10th triple for Farrell is the dagger that kills BC's comeback. Up to 37 now.

Was not able to watch the game but man Farrell must have really balled out. Need to win every game going into UVA to have a real shot at tourney imo. Love that this team keeps fighting through adversity. Regardless of whether we make the tournament I think for the most part Brey got what he could from his team once Bonzie went down.

Will be interesting to see what Pflueger's status is for Monday after taking a hard fall on his back on a drive to the basket. He came back in a couple minutes later but took himself out after one or two trips down the court. Djogo played decently in his place but will need Rex to continue the push.

Brey is a master at everything he does on the basketball court. Without 3 of our top 6 players you could tell he was frustrated that he couldn’t get production but they gave it their all even when we were getting destroyed at times.

I love the fight this team still shows. They know their backs are against the wall and they are putting everything out there every game.

Harvey hopefully coming back for Miami would be nice but Miami has looked pretty bad since Bowen went down awhile back and plus we will be home which is where our team shoots lights out usually.

We gotta keep this momentum going into the ACC tourney. Would be amazing if somehow bonzie could be back for Virginia gam cause that could be a really big if we are on a 4 game streak and would still need a huge win and winning at Virginia would be the biggest win we could ask for

Well looks like the bad news keeps coming for us. Yahoo sports said brey said post game that Harvey won’t be back till post season

On the flip side colson could be back for Pitt game barring any set backs. The way this season has gone and our luck he prob will have a set back even tho I really really hope not.
He will start jogging this week

Apart from the RPI, the computer numbers for us are actually stronger than I would have guessed. We're lacking the top wins, but I think we have a better profile than people think:

RPI: 67 (strength of schedule is 37)
BPI: 38
Kenpom: 41
Sagarin: 32

2/18 update. I continue to think our numbers are better than we are getting credit for, and we will be squarely on the bubble if we go 3-1 to end the regular season.

RPI: 60 (strength of schedule is 31)
BPI: 30
Kenpom: 30
Sagarin: 22

Here is our record against the new quadrants that the committee is using this year:

Quadrant 1: Home 1-30; Neutral 1-50; Away 1-75: 2-6
Quadrant 2: Home 31-75; Neutral 51-100; Away 76-135: 4-2
Quadrant 3: Home 76-160; Neutral 101-200; Away 136-240: 1-3
Quadrant 4: Home 161+; Neutral 201+; Away 241+: 8-0

Wow those numbers say a lot. I can’t believe sagarin has us at 22. We are squarely on the bubble. I think we will go 3-1 the rest of way

Would be awesome to get bonzie back for Pitt game(which they say is possible). Get him in game mode before the Virginia game which could be a big game for us.

Quadrant 4: Home 161+; Neutral 201+; Away 241+: 8-0

This quadrants are fluid as well, and as far I can tell, we have much more wiggle room moving up than down.

For example, the 1-3 in quadrant 3 can get better, as both Ball State and Indiana (Much more Indiana) are on the cusp of being Quad 2 (which would be big). We are currently 3-3 in that range (not 1-3).

Also, LSU, Florida State, Miami and Boston College all have the possibility of moving up in quadrant. If you have teams you're going to root for, these would be it (plus if we beat Miami, root for Miami).

Start rooting against teams on the bubble. Teams like Baylor, KSU, Providence, ect.

We need another quad 1 win to get us to 3, and the odds are higher that one of those teams move up rather than us beating Virginia.

Huge game tonight we gotta keep this momentum going. Miami is hurting right now and haven’t looked good so we need a big win against a team that is on the bubble themselves.

Bubble Watch 2/19

This could be pretty short lived, since if we lose tonight, we're out, but I thought it would be interesting to keep track of games each day that could influence our standing on the bubble.

1.) Oklahoma vs Kansas - Probably not real impactful for us, but I think the wheels are pretty close to coming off in Norman. Oklahoma is now 16-10, soon to be 16-11 after tonight at Kansas. They close with KSU at home, at Baylor, and ISU at home. They could, potentially, finish on a 1-3 (I can't fathom them losing to both ISU and KSU at home). Odds are they get 2 of the 4 and stay off the bubble, but they have looked really bad recently.

2.) Maryland @ Northwestern - Maryland is on the outside looking in, but I'd rather not give people reason to discuss teams getting close to the bubble. They are currently 1-9 vs Quadrant 1/2 teams, so they don't have a huge resume to lean on. But, a loss at NW would completely shut the door.

Pretty quiet bubble night (other than our game).
