Really? Then join the team then Mr. All-American.

LOL, where is my scholarship? Sign me up. All-American is pretty funny.

Explain to me how hard it is to catch a football, please and thank you.

Just catch the ball. What the hell is so hard about that...? That was my point. Sorry if that offended you.

Let's not ruin this thread, on a good day of practice with lots of exciting stuff to discuss, with a bunch of pointless arguing.

Jerry Tillery is in great shape. Jesus.

Yup. I was saying earlier that he's basically the same size as Tuitt was his first few years at ND. I think that having Tillery on the same side of the line with Rochelle at DE could be a little overwhelming, size and power wise, for opposing offensive lines.

That is probably the most powerful tandem on defense in the country, no joke. The scary thing is, Tillery is a bit bigger than Tuitt and he's in better shape and farther along technique wise than Tuitt was. Sounds like drinking the Kool Aid, but the hype around him so far is very much justified.

I'm super excited about all the news coming out of spring practice. I know some of it's going to be spin, but still- we have a depth this team hasn't seen in a VERY long time.

Based on practice footage?

Tuitt was an elite DL but pretty raw in his pass rushing technique when he arrived on campus, which is why Lynch saw more time than him. Tuitt was no novice by any means, but Tillery is just so far along by any means, not just comparing to Tuitt. This was discussed long before Spring Practice started, how good Tillery was with his hands and getting around linemen. He's just putting it on display against some really good offensive linemen now.

Kelly has mentioned that Tillery was taught by the best. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that he's a more developed lineman than freshman level Tuitt, though I'll wait for the season to come first.

You're probably right. This includes the NFL, right?

This is great, we're comparing Tillery to a guy that almost set the single season sack record as a sophomore before he's even played a game. I'm really excited about him and I think he's going to be one heck of a player but a little ahead of ourselves.

What a dream to have a D Line that dominates and dictates. Staff has recruited well and if injury bug doesn't bite' his could be an awesome group.

It looks like we've brought in some tacticians on the coaching staff that should really help bring along the youth on the team. It just seems like Lyght, Denson and Gilmore are all about teaching technique and fundamentals which fits our roster well.

Oh Sean, you're doing it again. Slow your roll man. This reminds me of last year when you foolishly said Stanley and Elmer would be just as good or probably better than Martin and Watt lol. Do you even follow other teams? I mean, calling a rising junior and a HS senior you've never seen take a live snap the most powerful tandem in football? Holy crap. I've seen the kid play and raved about him, but I'm not even close to going there.

Your reputation is well-deserved...

I agree with this. I merely said that he's the same size as Tuitt and that Tillery and Rochell could be a tough duo. That being said, every SEC team has a tandem like that. Slow your roll, indeed.

Lucky...thanks for speaking up because wow. There has to be some beach time for an asinine comment like that. An incoming freshman already better then Tuitt due to a few March practices??

IMO, Tillery would have been a top 6-10 DT in last year's class if the services ranked him on defense. I'd be lying if I said I expected him to receive this much praise this early on, but one look at his defensive film and I knew he'd be a stud.

Some pretty good praise from Kelly on Bonner as well. Saying he has NFL type combine numbers. We seem to have a legit 3 deep at all 4 DL spots. That's exciting!
