Something occurred to me, today, about the Cardale Jones situation.
Cardale Jones graduated from High School in 2010. In the Fall of 2011, he attended Fork Union Military Academy, in order to get his grades up and qualify for a DI-A scholarship. He then enrolled in the Ohio State University, in January of 2012. Fast forward three years, and there is great debate about whether or not he should go pro. There are valid arguments for both going pro, and coming back to school. But here is the point that no one is making: If Cardale Jones had showed any interest in academics, he could be graduating this Spring, and maybe could have transferred someplace else and played NEXT season, instead of losing a season and momentum.
So where are all of these sportscasters who are always complaining about kids not taking care of their academic business? They should be out there shouting, "See kids? If Cardale had taken care of his academic business, then he wouldn't be in this situation!"
