I really hope this class starts to look better. I've been very pleased with the guys Kelly's brought in to this point but this class has me a bit worried. If I didn't know better I'd think this is one of Tyrone Willingham's classes. It's got me a little concerned.

I really hate posts like this. You clearly have no idea what your talking about and haven't followed recruiting the last month or so yet you feel compelled to post this crap. SMH. 10th best ranking in the country currently with some high quality players on the horizon.

Ty Willingham's 2004 Recruiting Class had 7 3:s: players and 2 4:s: players IN TOTAL. ND right now has 7 3:s: recruits and 6 4:s: recruits with roughy 8 spots left to fill and 6 months left.

Agreed if you go back to ty he had plenty well below 3 stars. Which led to the zero draft picks from his last recruiting cycle and the 2007 debacle. However I noticed a slight amount of concern about the issue on this weeks power hour from mike frank. So I would not say I am concerned but I do look at the numbers available of scholarships and some of the big fish still out there and get a little itchy.

If he shows up and does well...he could be in for a offer. Kids is explosive as heck. Doesnt play the best competition, but his team lost to Barajas squad by 6.

Under the Radar: Levante’ Bellamy | Irish Turning Point

So I had read about this kids 40 at the camp you mentioned from a 247 article but never went and watched his highlights or dug any deeper. Wow, I want this kid. Every touch could be a score and that's what we need. Good write up

I do not undestand why Levante Bellamy only has MAC offers (mostly). He has electric speed and is very shifty with the ball in his hands.

Hes just small, and from Indiana. Not sure how hard he has hit the camp circuit. I believe he went to one NFTC.

What is your reasoning for saying the class is similar to a Willingham class?

1 QB - Waller
4 Skill Athletes - Jamabo, Newsome, St. Brown, Boykin
1 Rush DE - Wallace
2 CB - Crawford, Reid
1 LB - Hilliard
1 DL/LB - Bilal

Would be a semi-realistic dream finish

That list seems pretty realistic to me with the exception of maybe Newsome. I think Ofadile takes a WR spot this summer. And my personal pipe dream is that the staff takes Wallace but also shoots for the moon with Kaumatule. I know the numbers won't technically add up, but I'd prefer they push the limits to the max. Yoon could throw a wrench in my "dream finish" plan as well.

So, I'd like to get the opinions of my fellow board members on Bellamy. What do you guy's think?

I haven't had time to watch all of his film. How are his hands/catching out of the backfield? If the staff is really only looking to take 4 more playmakers (RB/WR/TE), I'm taking others before him: Soso, Newsome, Ofadile, ESB, Boykin. He could definitely be a "wait and see" prospect considering his MAC offers. Meaning it's probably safe to assume ND can get in late on him if need be.

Correct. Who I also really like. As long as we add some significant speed to this class I don't care where it comes from. I want one of Bellamy, Newsome, and Humphrey. I think those are 3 with elite speed and I'd take any one right now. And you'll know how much I love Newsome.

No, he doesn't. Not at all really, and he has a different build than Sproles.

Go watch LaMichael James highlights from high school.
After re watching his tape he doesn't have the body of Sproles. Sproles has that stocky thick legged body.

Anyway there is a Dri Archer comparison I believe. especially since Archer went to Kent State.

He's fast! Home run threat every time he touches the ball. Best of all he is from IN. Lock him up please. Maybe even put him in the category of APB to include a Humphrey and Newsome type. Take one or two, but leave two available spots for any combo of SoSo, Ty'Son, and Parks. I feel we are lacking just a little in terms of elite skill players, but this class could change that in a hurry. I love Folston, Bryant, and Daniels, but after them I feel like the rest is all potential in terms of battle tested. Would love for us to load up this year.
