I got killed for saying this back then... oh well.

I'll say this right now... I want a playoff of Memphis, MSU, Clemson and Notre Dame... that's within the realm of possibility and ND would have a wonderful chance at it... if it's Bama, Baylor, tOSU and ND... not so much...

We are ND and we are the most hated by the masses no matter what we do someone on some network or mag will downplay it. If we can play Memphis in the Fiesta bowl and give this team some bowl rings after this season of adversity I'll take that over a "sexy" matchup with Bama or OSU where we get humiliated.

Most schools BYE weeks are scheduled before a big game not after exams.

No. And normally Notre Dame doesn't either. But this week is also fall break at Notre Dame, so pretty much all students go home. Since Notre Dame clings to the quaint notion that football players are students, too, and they don't have a game this weekend (and many coaches are on the road recruiting), why not send them home?

I'm pretty sure ND didn't "send" anyone home. I believe that they gave them the week off, just like their classmates have. If the players have the means, and want to go home? Why not?

Campus is pretty well shut down during breaks. I knew a few kids that would stick around and I don't think the dining hall was even open. I really like getting them a week off after midterms and first half of the season. Regroup, refresh and hit the last five games hard!

Since they didn't practice all week and coaches were all over the country recruiting, I doubt this happens.. Seems like if this was the plan, they would have wanted to work with Nyles
