Is this something to worry about?

Matchup nightmare for opposition. This kid has been catching everything in practice. That play is almost impossible to defend if Corey and Everett can find a good rhythm. Exciting news and I hope it pays redzone dividends.

im excited about Corey's development this spring. Hopefully he can take Eifert's redzone role on and flourish

That is a big if IMO. We had that last year with Eifert and it looked awkward all year. This was due in part to EG finding himself but also from the fact that we struggled at times punching it in running it. We need to avoid being one dimensional and develop a power running attack in the red zone. Without running, it doesn't matter who you have on the outside.

I completely agree. Our redzone offense was pathetic last year. I'm just speaking in general. When the opportunity for that play presents itself, it's nearly impossible to defend if and when the QB and receiver are on the same page. Corey has great size, great hands, and seems to have the ability to high-point the ball...all important factors in executing that play from his end. The other side of the coin is Golson. Can he develop the timing, the touch, and the ability to notice a one-on-one matchup to make that pass? I think he can.

Just for fun: What will a defense do if Niklas, Daniel Smith, and Corey all line up in the redzone? Spread out to defend the jump ball, imo. Meanwhile, we run the ball right up the gut into the endzone for 6! lol

Bk's quote on Daniels from Saturday. "He was coming off the line and jammed it. So he's been a little sore. I would probably say Wednesday he'll start running routes and back into everything. Pretty minor."

Why was brown absent? Thanks...

According to II, Brown suffered a hamstring injury that may be more serious than a tweak or a strain. And its unclear on when he could return to action. This is just from one source. So keep that in mind.

He's got plenty of time to work on it, but Malik needs to really speed up that release.

I really hope that happens!!

It just really irks me when we are inside the 5 and are running shotgun. I find myself screaming at the TV just run the damn ball. It really upset my dog.

I think Mahone will be nasty inside of the redzone. He looks pretty big and to be a down-hill runner.

Watching that latest film posted, Amir is so laterally quick going through that drill. GAIII still is straight up and doesn't strafe side to side very well which I think keeps him from every being a solid starting back.

GA3 looked pretty awkward in that drill, he dosen't bend his knees at all and isnt very comfortable catching the ball. They need to get them doing that drill with the metal canopy over the top to keep them all low. Hadn't ever seen much of Mahone on practice tape before but he looks compact and powerful. Love the #32 on him, perfect number for a power back :)

Yeah I was thinking Brooks was 88 this whole time too. Man has Robinson really stuck out in these short clips. One that kid gets a little more bulk he's going to be tough as hell to defend.

I like the lateral movement and concentration from Mahone in the side-to-side drill. Very smooth, looked more comfortable than GAIII with both the cuts and concentrating on the ball.

He could be a devastating redzone weapon. Make the defenses concentrate on big receivers, then send him through the line. He's got the ability to side step and find a lane through the line, and the power to get through contact and fall forward.

I'm excited for the RB competition to really open up.
