2013 will be much like 2011 in that there will be some serious expectations for a big run.

I'm a big fan of playing in TX/OK. So much talent down there that we rarely get.

Do you think playing Washington State in San Antonio had anything to do with getting our TX commits?

I for one think we should always try to get one game a year in California, TX/OK, and FL or somewhere in the south.

Hmm everyone seems to be pretty optimistic about 2013's schedule. I think we'll have a lot of talent, but not sure if the schedule will actually be any easier than 2012. We drop 3 sub .500 ACC teams (BC, Wake, Miami) and pick up Temple, Air Force, and Arizona State. Still have Oklahoma and of course USC, UM, MSU on the schedule. I don't know about you guys, but I think that is a damn tough schedule.

Then again, check out our potential/preliminary 2014 schedule:
9-6 Michigan
9-13 Purdue
9-27 vs. Syracuse @East Rutherford, NJ
10-11 @ Temple
10-25 @ Arizona State
11-1 vs. Navy @site TBA
11-8 Pittsburgh
11-15 Northwestern
11-29 @ Southern California
TBA Army @Orlando, FL
TBA Stanford

Mmmmmmm

This is completely hypothetical but if we win 11 or more in 2013 there is no reason we don't go undefeated in 2014... but its so far away. hard to tell

The Irish playing in Jerry's world will be pretty awesome.

There's no doubt though ND shouldn't be able to make a big run next year. Anything short of a 10 win season would be pretty disappointing.

Isnt this the game Temple guaranteed a win or something like that?

Playing in Texas or versus Texas teams on a regular basis will open up recruiting immensely in this talent-***** state. If the Big east stays intact, ND will have increased presence here playing against SMU and Houston. They have a few games set with UT coming up, and should consider games versus TCU(DFW area), Rice(Houston), and Baylor(midway between Dallas and Austin).

I feel you, but man, this is the way you set up an early-season schedule. You have a good warm-up game that you should handle (Temple) before playing your 2nd biggest rival and always a tough game in Michigan. You don't have a super-fast South Florida team as your warm-up.

Then we get Purdue before MSU. You don't have UM and MSU back to back like you do this year.

Then it gets really, really tough, but I do like Air Force and Navy back to back, as it makes for easier preparation.

But guys, that is still a difficult schedule. Lots of good teams on it...

Anyone know the story of how we came to play BYU at home two years in a row? Every series I can remember alternates home dates.
