I just can't believe this. Whether you believe that marijuana should be legal or not, he knew it was wrong, I just can't wrap my head around why people are more comfortable trying to beat the system than just complying with the rules. Marijuana isn't that great. But, yeah I hope it's 2 games, and he has to wear a tye-dyed cap on his helmit during practice for now on.

Exactly, at least for the first 2 games, not too big of an area of conern considering the quality depth at RB.

Also, I just saw an article on Rivals that had this blurb in it at the very end, didnt know Wood had been off-limits to media, although it makes sense now given this news:

"Wood's availability to the program has been a nagging question throughout training camp when he missed the opening practices due to "paperwork" issue, according to Kelly. Wood has been off-limits to the media throughout the pre-season, the only projected starter not to speak to reporters"

And on the bright side, only 6 days until Notre Dame football and only 3 days until college football starts!

He's a misfit in this defense. He was an undersized DE with a quick first step. I believe he was the lineman of the year in Cali when he signed with ND. He doesn't have the ideal length to play OLB, and he doesn't have the size to play DE in the 3-4. I had heard that he had been improving coming off the edge on passing downs, and I was hoping he'd get some PT this season.

I just bashed Shembo's pump fake blunder in another thread so let me give him some love here.. I'm pumped to see what he can do in the CAT role. I think with his measurements and the fact that he's admitted to being more comfortable rushing the passer we should see a lot more pressure from his side.

For those asking, #NotreDame WR starters: TJ Jones, Robby Toma, John Goodman. Backups: DaVaris Daniels, Davonte Neal, Daniel Smith.

#NotreDame freshmen in 2-deep: WR/PR Davonte Neal, T Ronnie Stanley, DE Sheldon Day, LB Romeo Okwara, CB KeiVarae Russell (only starter).

I am kind of disappointed to not hear Ferguson or Brown in the 2-deep at WR? Are we trying to redshirt these guys? Everyone raved about the trio of freshman wide receivers and this was certainly a position in which opportunity was there for freshmen to come in and play right away. It seems like Kelly really wants to give Goodman a fair chance to succeed this year but i am thinking that if he doesn't produce by Week 4 he'll let some of the youngsters get their playing time over him.

To early to be disappointed about two freshman not being in the two deep right now..give it time

Did it say anything about us playing a 4 or 3 man front on defense. I would really like to see a 4 man front

Goodman is slow and a poor route runner. He won't last long as a 1st teamer.

Could it not be simply a case of Kelly trying to give his rookie QB more of a chance to succeed with knowledgeable receivers that are well steeped in his system? Isn't it easier in a "concept" offense for one person (Golson) to have to get on the same page than simultaneously getting 3 new people out of the 4 on the same page in 4 weeks of preseason practice. Build Golson's confidence through successful completions (and receivers experienced at throwing a block for the running game) and work the new more athletic guys in as they pick things up. Speed will find a way on the field.

Julius Jones didn't get PT as a RB until mid season as a freshman. He acknowledged he knew how to run but the Div 1 game was so much different than the HS game. Everybody was big and fast, had better technique, strength, and knowledge. He pointed out that he needed all the additional weeks to catch up.
